| Since Harriet repainted her [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], she asked me some pics of the PAPO zebu. So, I apologize for the delay Harriet, but here they are. A bit of context, for everybody even Portuguese crocs Zebu (Bos primigenius indicus or Bos indicus), sometimes known as humped cattle, indicus cattle, or Brahmin cattle are a type of domestic cattle originating in South Asia, particularly the Indian subcontinent. They are characterised by a fatty hump on their shoulders, drooping ears and a large dewlap. They are highly adapted to high temperatures, and are farmed throughout the tropical countries. They were imported to Africa over many hundreds of years, and interbred with taurine cattle there. Genetic analysis of African cattle has found higher concentrations of zebu genes all along the east coast of Africa, with especially pure cattle on the island of Madagascar, implying that the method of dispersal was cattle transported by ship. Partial resistance to rinderpest led to another increase in the frequency of zebu in Africa. Zebu were imported into Brazil in the early twentieth century and crossbred with Charolais cattle, a French taurine breed. The resulting breed is called the Chanchim. It has a better meat quality than the zebu as well as better heat resistance than European cattle. A few more word about this model... Because I love it very much. In France, nobody knows what is a Brahma bull Mostly because India was a British colony. But the zebu was very well known and every toy company made one, BF, STARLUX, CLAIRET... When I was a child, thinking about a zebu was thinking about Madagascar... Which was an ancient french colony. I guess PAPO team has got the same age and the same culture... And they made a Malagasy zebu which could have this kind of colours But now let go to the pics

| I do own this Zebu & somehow I feel it lacking some kind of realistic or maybe due to the paint and even Safari Zebu Bull don't have a good paint job. But I still like him better. |

| Thankyou for the wonderful pictures, Christophe I love this figures, actually it was one of the Papo-figueres that set me off collecting Paops in the first place And thankyou for telling about the breed(s), now I understand better why many "Zebus" have the couloring of other cattle! |
