Why do you horse people always have to give your horses a name?!

When i would start doing that with my models, i have to come up with thousands of names...
I see myself doing that...
Susanne 1, Susanne 2, Susanne 3, Harriet 1, Harriet 2, Harriet 3, Rogerio 1, Rogerio 2, Rogerio 3 and so on...
It maybe even comes that far, that i have to name one Christophe or so! (or Kikimalorse...)

I also love horses´ movements, so I usually prefer older ones, like this awesome mare. Congrats about your new adittion!

Willy, I'm always glad to answer questions You know, I've never exactly thought about whether I should give them names or not – NOT giving names didn't seem like an option. Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that I was quite a little girl, 9 or 10 years old, when I got my first Schleich horse (which was the Shire gelding of 2000). Also I kind of think of my horses as "real", each one has their own personalities, what things they like, what they don't like... so, since real horses always have names, of course my little plastic horses have to have names too! And the best part of buying a new horse is getting to decide its name and personality. Sometimes I have to consider the name for quite a long time (I still don't know if this one's going to be Enigma or Chipiona), sometimes it comes to me the moment I look a the horse. I have 93 horses now and have come up with good names (in my opinion!) to all of them.

Abelha is a nice name for her, because she is graceful and perfect as a bee!

Congrats & agreed that new releases horses look a bit flat.

I started naming my horses... But now I have more than 150 and I can´t remember all! So I don´t name them. I would like to, but I have no time xD I mean, I would love to have a miniature horse farm, so my model horses would be my horses in the farm (well, obvious, isn´t it?) with their own names, personaluties, training, and so on. When I had 15 or 20 it was easy! But not now xD Anyway, I love when people name their horses!

In fact this model is one of my few models with its own name. She´s called Flecha, wich means arrow in Spanish, because I loved a horses cartoon called "Viento, el brumby plateado" (I think it´s called "Thowra, the silver brumby" in English) and there was a character called Flecha. He was a stallion, but she fits so well the character... And Flecha is more for a she than for a he :) My friend and I used to play the chapters, and invent new stories, with our horses. We had lots and lots of hours full of fun... Oooh childhood time! (wow, I feel old xD)

I can easily remember all my horses' names. Maybe I have a better-than-average memory for names, maybe I remember them because I gave the names myself, I don't know. Anyway, I thought I'd post another pic of Enigma (that's her name now!) where you can see that minor fault on her shoulder. That doesn't bother me, though – I think she's in a pretty good condition, considering she was made in -93. And, btw, she's Made In Germany, which is nice!

Hi everyone! I finally managed to get a picture of this nice old pony that I purchased a month ago :) I call him Jerry and as his breed is unspecified, I think he's a Shetland/Gotland pony cross. What do you think? :)
