| Starlux made several chamois in different sizes because it is an emblematic animal of French mountains. |

| Composition models, as they were in Germany, Austria or other countries never really existed in France. The first STarlux were made in "Blanc de Meudon", a chalk based material but the company changed to Hardplastic in the 1950's.
This Chamois model isn't old. Are you sure it is made of compostion like Lineol or Elastolin? Is it the same material with metallic wires inside or does it look like something else?
Starlux made several Chamois and Izards for the Alpine or Pyrenean gift stores. |

I also have now th chamois standing on a hill but the lizards could be very interesting for my zoo :) _________________ www.spielzeugtiere.com STS members can merge Andreas |

| These composite animals look so beautiful (but are also so expensive). - widukind wrote:

Could one of them be the female capercaillie (5552) or pheasant (5548)? Probably looks most like the capercaillie. |

| I think the large hen is a female capercaillie. I found they not so much expensive on a online shop (around 4€ each). Now the owner is a local friend.
Interesting catalogue, you have more pictures. Or a information if they are more unusual species like the Black grouse. _________________ www.spielzeugtiere.com STS members can merge Andreas |

When you have any time (no hurry), would you mind taking some close-ups of the individual birds, then I'll put them onto TAW. They are still missing there. The plastic Hausser Elastolins aren't so expensive, but the composite ones usually are. What is your friend's shop? Thank you. And yes, i will do that soon.
