| After seeing some of your huge collections, mine seems teeny tiny and unimpressive [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Actually, I divided my models into two collections, horses and wildlife. But now they are so small that I photographed them together _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook

| My turn! First, the shelves in my "studio" and bedroom. The bigger horses - my small collection of customized Breyer classics and Safari biggies. I also have a few older Breyers (HR sculpts), but as they're still unfinished I don't display them. You can also see some Collectas and other midsize customs. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]More customs, mainly Schleich and Breyer SMs. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Yet more horses! The big one is a portrait of a horse I used to ride, and one of my very few trad repaints. He's incredibly tippy, so he has to lean on the wall to keep from falling over! On the lower shelf are most of my carnivores: tyrannosaurids and other theropods, big cats, hyenas, and a few dogs. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Hadrosaurs on the upper shelf, spinosaurs on the lower. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Allosaurs and my "aviary". [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]My apartment isn't terribly small, but the living room has a lot of windows. That means less space for shelves, and so my books (of which I have rather a lot) and models have to share. Hippos! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And other ungulates. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And that's pretty much it... oh, wait! The velociraptor shelf! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There, that's all. Well, apart from the bins of models I'm going to repaint or are just packed away because there's no room... |

| What a fantastic collection, Sumo. And I love the way you have them everywhere, - immediately I stole your idea and tried to make more space on the shelves by pushing the books back. But alas, I had forgotten that my books stand two layers deep So now I found a lot of books I had forgotten that I had That model of the horse you used to ride is FANTSTIC ! WOW Your collection is quite unusual and very, very beautyful ! Thanks for sharing ---- Gabe, I have to go and feed the neigbour`s dog now, I look so much forward to studying your collection when I am back |

Sumo, what brand is the hippo to the right of the Papo rhino, in front of the pick china hippos? Good question. The bellystamp simply says "Made in China", but there's also an oval with "TM" inside. However, this is obviously not the TM hippo - I've got that one too, and he's very different (also, his bellystamp is an oval with T .M ., note the punctuation). Odds are our bignecked hippo friend is just another brandless cheapie... unless anyone has any other information? |
