| Mine is made in Germany So, there was a hole in the clouds, so here are pictures of my dun-roan-weirdcolour horsey As you can see, I never had him on my showshelf. He still wears the tag [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Yes, the front left leg is all bent backwards, poor horse Perhaps he is roan, but I always thought he was some sort of real sloppy made appaloosa. Now that I began to look into it, I found one that could look a little like mine [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I was also thinking on a kind of appaloosa. Maybe a solid blanket varnish one... Similar to these, but without spots: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

You´re right :) I was thinking about that name but it didn´t come to my mind, so I used "solid blanket". So thanks! _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| IMHO solid blanket is much better! No reason to make all these fancy names, - they are mainly suited for showing off Like "strawberry roan"...what strawberry ???? They are red roan ( or chestnut roan ) |

| Ok ok, solid blanket Oh, strawberry roans are chestnut + roan, and red roan are bay + roan. Strawberry roan is a bit stupid name, but that´s the name the coat has... I´m basing on a book: Equine color genetics, by D. Philip Sponenberg _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| I think you remember wrong there. A bay roan is...a bay roan. A chestnut roan is called strawberry roan or red roan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roan_(color) Sponenbers book has the great advantage of being in English, but I think he makes it much too difficult There are also faults in it, - I saw a list once. Also he has been accused of usnig pictures taking in a light that makes the colours of the horses fit his theories It is several years since I read it. It is a good book, but I never bought it. No doubt it is the classical book on horse colours |

| Buf! There are sooooo many differences in Spanish (and I don´t know them all), and now I have to learn the differences in English! I´m turning crazy Anyway, in my opinion, it´s better the book than the wikipedia :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| You are so right ! That is the deceptive thing about ( British) English. It is reasonalbly easy to get along with, but when it comes to the more special details, it really is not. Like my friend janice who said lemon when she meant yellow I don`t know about others, but I also often fall in the trap that I think American and English are the same, but it sometimes is not. Just think about the word ass, which does not mean donkey in American |
