Plaho Malayan tapir

different scales... As usual

I know you are a nightdweller like me Sue, haha.
Like Christophe mentioned, Plaho had different scales, not only in the series, but next to eachother to in some cases, like in the sheep.
I think, they were ment to be in the 1:32 scale, but some are about in the 1:24/25 scale, like the smaller species for example...
I guess, it had to do with the fact, that they used a lot of the old Lineol moulds...

Yes ! They certainly could be repainted ones of the Plaho models ( Brazilian Tapirs?)

The material is grey under the black/white paint, isn't it ?

Yes, it's grey - under the black sections AND under the white sections. So the white is not painted over black.

Our two, along with the one that was referred to in the start of this topic, would make 3 identically painted models. Looks more like the factory painted the same model in a new colour than a private repaint?

Hello, the first one is painted black of white plastic; your both models are quiete a try aorund the 1990's I think when Marolin start the reprivatization
