| WOW! What a scary T-rex I don`t know so much about dinoes , but from the books I just borrowed on the library, he has a much more correct head then the ones I have from Bullyland Have they found new data about the TR ? Or - the Bullylands are only called Tyrannusaurus ( no "rex"), - is there both a T-rex and one that is not a "rex" ? Sorry if this is a silly question A great model, thankyou very much for sharing |

oh, i was thinking the same thing, but didnt' want to say anything b/c i'm not up to date on dino anatomy. Mostly it's the arms that bug me - sculpter was probably trying to reflect latests research that rex's arms were relatively powerful, with large muscle attachments, not useless after all. even if it could lift a couple hundred pounds with its arms, they still wdn't have muscles large enough to compare to the leg muscles, which moved tons. circumference relative to length, i'd think his arm muscles would be more like a human weight lifter's arms. come to think of it, he does sort of look like a body builder with all his muscles bulging out. Perhaps his stance is body builder flexing! Leg muscles that size, wouldn't he need more butt to give those huge things something to attach to? but i like his head very much. not so much the goth black eye circles, but that's just paint. he's got a great intense stare. and he's a rex, so he's a _________________ carolynn

But ok Mojo, I love your 2012 wildlife animals so much so 2012 will be a great Mojo year
Christophe, there's no bad boys when we say what we think in a correct way as you are doing! :) Your knowledge and wise comments are a nice contribution to those who wants to read them. This is a Deluxe figure probably because it is a 1:15 scale replica! About the pose I know the actual tendency is to make reconstructions in a more horizontal posture! I also don't like those Godzila but that is not the case here. Dinosaurs were living animals, not statues, they surely were able to adopt some different poses like it happens with actual creatures! Paleonthology is not Mathematics and dino collectors look at dinosaur replicas as it was an ortodoxe reconstruction of a skeleton and not a representation of a living creature. I agree with the harms and the tripod pose, but it is not a Vintage pose, or is it Safari a vintage brand? :) This t-rex remembers me the Papo gnu, some inaccuracies, in fact but a very artistic expression in an impressive figure. Well, you surely remember my vision about Paleonthology in this topic and also a metaphoric way to express my adventure in a dino forum full of real experts and also of people with fossilized knowledge! I'll be back there but with the user name Crocobert so nobody knows who I am! |

Rogério, I didn't know you had some adventures on DTF, how did I missed that Maybe Or maybe I spend my time on STS DTF is a serious forum with serious dino collectors and STS is a serious forum with serious extant animals collectors They talk about replica as we do, sometimes very passionate and sometimes wisely and seriously. I read and participate in a lot of topics about, for example, PAPO jaguar vs SCHLEICH jaguar, accurate black rhino, the PAPO cheetah red eyes ... We discussed a few days ago to know what exact specie is the PV skunk We are learning a lot from each other and I learned a lot about dinos on DTF. Here we are more cool about dinos because it isn't our first cup of tea but I can't think this is a good Trex when I look at the pics. Especially a Deluxe one must be more accurate IMHO. This one is a good toy... But not a good replica. I need to say that because Mojo pay attention to collectors point, also because Mojo wildlife is a big improvement and I'm sad it's not the same with dinos. Maybe Mr James may have to find someone like you on DTF About the tripod pose, you are right, it is the Carnegie and SAFARI ltd curse But at last, their last Trex is not a tripod one and his hands are not prognated. The big problem with two footed animals is to find a solution to help them standing: A base like the last SCHLEICH ostrich ? A smaller one like the SAFARI Ltd ostrich ? Too big foot like the COLLECTA suchomimus ? A tripod pose like a lot of dinos ? Having a well balanced model is very very hard IMHO |

| Well, I don't collect dinosaurs and I'm not a dino expert, so I cannot say anything about accuracy. But I must say I like this model because of few things: nice texture, nice coloration (he may hide himself into fallen leaves during Autumn ), and SCARY CHARACTER. In my opinion his pose, and head is full of character what makes him nice toy which can be use for play (maybe somewhat like Godzilla destroying city or something like that ) But of course, dino toys shall be also educative, so if he is not accurate with current science it is not educative In future dinos, Mojofun shall do more research, maybe ask our experts for help |
