| Seing these 3 horses are all marked 2006, and seen together you would think they are the same horse, just different colours. But they are not The bay one is a "competition horse" ( Springpferd in German), came in 2008, and has item no 51077. The darker ones are French Saddle horses, came in 2006 and 2007, and have item no 51063 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The French saddle horse, item no 51063 he was only made in 2006 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lighter French saddle horse came in 2007. Also marked 2006 and also has item no 51063 He is still in the 2011 - catalogue . [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here the "Competition horse", still marked 2006, but he has item no 51077 and came on the market in 2008. He is also still in the 2001-catalogue [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It is SO much fun to collect Papo-horses |

| You´re becoming an expert about Papo horses, Susanne!
I like this mold, and I think it fits better a Sport Horse rather than a French Saddle. I think he could be a Dutch Warmblood, or an irish Sport Horse. Or even a KWPN, with those big legs and stilyzed neck :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| Thankyou, Silvia Having hunted variations in Schleich for a long time, I think Papo horses are like a candy store ! There are SO many, and I wished I had them all You are right, this one could be many breeds, - I was a lot into horse breeds when I was younger, but not any more. The sports horses have all become lighter the last 20 years, and much more like each other, I think When I was a teen ager, I used to go and ride some Oldenburger-mares at a farm. They were HUGE, like sitting on an elefant, with enormous heads and hooves like buckets . They are still lovely, big horses, but I miss the old gentle giants |

A friend of mine has a KWPN mare who is about 170-170 cm high; recently I saw a 175 cm high Holsteiner gelding; and a pair of years a go I used to ride a Hannover mare wich was more than 180 cm high ^^ Oh, and one of the people who has their horses where I have mine has a 172 cm crossed mare ^^ _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

i like them all! I'd say especially the golden bay, but then i'd have to change my mind to the brown with the star, no without the star...! and now you know what Breyer collectors go through: every model comes in many, many colors, all with different numbers*, so if you want to get all the Breyers, give up before you go crazy. And that's not counting the variations, like how many socks or does it have a star or a bald face, and what color are its hooves! (*or the same number for completely different animals! Early on Breyer got confused and assigned the same numbers to horses and to bulls and wildlife!) _________________ carolynn

| When I saw the title for the first time I thought it was a Schleich topic. But I was wrong! ...and as you know, all brands have many variations, we are used with Schleich that people knows a lot because they sell more than all other brands together! For example, the new Bullyland Deluxe zebra calf is a variation from the one you have in your collection. The painting of the CollectA zebra as also changed, you have the variations of Safari otters and Mojo has also variations, the Harriet giraffes, are variations from the 2011 giraffes. It should be nice to collect variations, mainly those less known because Schleich variations are of trivial knowledge while other brands there's no many people expertised in it. So, you are probably the Queen of Papo variations and a future reference for Papo collectors! |

| Thankyou very much, friends Yes, Carolynn, now I suddenly understand why collectors of Breyer have so many of the same model Silvia, the old Oldenburgers were not very tall, perhaps 1,60, - but they were heavy ! The old mares were much sought for. Crossed with English thoroughbred they gave fabulous offspring. I knew a man who had four of those mares, he could almost live from selling their foals Thankyou Roger, you are always much too kind, dear friend |
