| James Connolly was very kind to send me three Mojo figures I like the most. Here are they: You may say I’m repeating myself, but once again I dare to say that Mojo beaver is the best beaver figurine available at the market today. Here is it in my European display (this pic looks like the photographer was sitting in ambush in shrubbery near water and snapshot the beaver coming out of a pond): To back my conclusion with arguments I’ll try to make a concise review of beaver figurines by major brands. Sergey has already started such a comparison here, and I’d like to systematize the topic a bit. I must admit that I’ve been judging by photos and feedback from our forum members, ‘cause the only beavers I held in my hands are the retired Schleich model and my Mojo newcomer. So I’ll be glad if those who have got other beavers complement (or discard) the summaries that I’ve formulated. Mojo Fun 2011 beaverPros: + Good scale + Good paintwork + Body proportions + Pose + Matt finish Contras: - Painting of the teeth Scale is a real advantage of Mojo beaver in my eyes – other beaver figures are too large for my display :) Look at him next to Schleich lynx, for example: Papo 2010 beaverPros: + Unusual pose Cons: - Mediocre paintwork - Large size CollectA 2010 beaverPros: + Size Cons: - Strange-looking pose - Strange-looking paws :) Wild Safari Forest Beaver Pros: + That twig in the mouth adds “zest” to this figure Cons: - Size (it’s not as large as Papo, but still I’d prefer a smaller figure) - Glossy finish? Schleich beaver (retired, but present in many collections) Pros: + Good old Schleich style (not everyone will take it as advantage, but there are quite many collectors who will) Cons: - Large size - Glossy finish Do you agree, friends? P.S.: I’d like to finalize the comparison with this excellent photo by Sergey: _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog

I will not talk about Mojo beaver because I don't have it (Mojo are really uneasy for me to catch now). So I will not answer the topic question... Among modern brands I only own the PAPO and the SCHLEICH. I can't agree about the PAPO painting, I think it is at least better than the SCHLEICH in the same way a PAPO dino is better painted than a SCHLEICH. Scale ? Large or good as you noticed means peanuts since all Beavers, and also SCHLEICH lynx, are also too big for SCHLEICH wisent or any deer family on the market. About SAFARI Ltd, I guess it is bigger than the PAPO... Could somebody help ? I will buy the MOJO beaver, when it will be possible to find it, because he can join my small beaver clan without being too small or too big

I love them all, beavers are wonderful Perhaps I like the one from Safari the best. Also because mine was a gift from Kristie The CollectA one looks strange when seing it so close, but look at Sergey`s collection, it has some action that most others lack. But I agree, the Mojo beaver is very nice About the Schleich, - it was made years before the others, and the accuracy of animal models has increased a lot the later years. I know this is about "on the market", but retired models can still be bought on flea markets and auctions. So here some more old ones Bullyland Starlux and Hartung yes, they really have changed over the years

My personal favourites here are the Schleich retired model and also Christophes Lineol. They show that its not always necessary to be 100% accurate, both these chappies have character and presence, wonderful models and thank you for the pictures. If i had to choose from the old models, then it would have to be the Lineol, wow that guy has personality! Now there is a Beaver looking for a tree to gnaw on!

Well, the Lineol beaver don't surprise me since I check very often Kiki's website! :) I only have the Mojo European beaver and the Papo which I think it is an American beaver as it is the Safari! :) Schleich and CollectA looks enough interesting to collect as others here presented but not the best unless seeing from pictures. The Lineol looks really great! I like the style of Papo painting in some figures and I don't like in other figures as it happens with other brands! The Papo beaver is a nice with a very "human" sculpting while the Mojo beaver has a terribly accurate sculpting! I like both styles, both beavers! But if I had to choose only one it would be Mojo's!

I disagree about the sense of humor. I think he is saying, "****! there's that ******* crazy macaque with his camera again!" he is the best! he does look alive. _________________ carolynn

I think it is not the best but I love its pose as that is different and unique among the other companies and their beaver figures. He is very cute and love his little teeth!
