A black Icey and a colourful Newfie :-)

The first Icelandic horses by Bullyland were BLACK !
Look here, the Item number are lower than the others


Of course I have been searching for them for ages, but they are not that easy to find.
At last I got two of them


Unfortunately somebody painted socks and star on the foal, but it is not his fault, and I think he is lovely
- even if icey-foals are borne greyish-brown, never really black

Very nice Iceys! I love the variations.

Nice additions Susanne! This dog remembers when children start repainting their figures! It looks a kind of little terrorism but we always have to start. Who knows who painted it is now as talented as Harriet, for example! The black Iceys are nice! :)

Where did Bullyland have its start? What country?

Can you tell I am in a round about way trying to figure out where you find your Bullys? I don't like all of the Bullyland figures, (we each have our own tastes) but I do like the Iceys.

Where do I have space for them
I don`t they are EVERYWHERE , my house is ready to explode

I think the multi-coloured models were made for some sort of jubilee, Bullyland made several of these multi-coloured models.
Perhaps one of our German friends can tell us what it means ?

Bullyland is a German brand. It was started by Volkmar Klaus in 1973.
He used to work for Schleich and was married to Mr Schleich`s daughter.
When they got divorced he and his new wife, Jane began making Smurfs, and shortly after they got an arrangement with Walt Disney and other cartoon-compagnies. They made the first real animal models in 1980.
Jane and Volkmar Klaus had French Bulldogs ( Called Bully in German), therefore the name.

A couple of years ago they sold the compagny, and the nice logo with the Bully is now disappearing
Further, the new owners shut down the Bullyland Museum. This was a hard blow to Mr Klaus, because the Museum was the apple of his eye.

Here is a picture of Bully with Mrs. and Mr. Klaus taken in May this year.
Bully is 14 years old and almost blind, but still going strong

How dare they close the museum? No wonder Schleich and Bully are heading down down...
I am so sad! I wanted to visit that museum!

I am pretty sure, Mrs.Klaus isn't German by origine when i look at the picture.
And nice to see the Bully is still alive!

About origin...hmm, arent most European somewhat mixed origin ?

My great-great-great-something parents were French. Lots of Hugenots came to Denmark at some time, during the French Revolution, I think.
My Husband`s grandparents were German

Yes, i guess you are right Susanne...
My grand-grandfather was German to...
And specially in modern times, there are so much mixed couples, so eventually we might be really just one type of people.
I personally think that children of mixed couples belong to the most beautifull and hansome people, they seem to have the good of both of them...
In the Caribbean is it even much more mixed like in the bloodlines of my girlfriend...
Her mother is from Curacao, but very white in colour because of her origins.
Her father is a very tall and big black man.
The mother of her mother is 100% Saudi-Arabian, her grandfather 100% Venezuela Indio.
And there are Dutch and French bloodlines in her blood to.
At the end it results in children with many different looks, they are 4 sisters, but none of them does look the same.
There are 4 different hair-types, and 4 different colours...

Not to long ago, there were one-egged twins born in the UK, one was white, one was black...

I was at the museum Bullyland with my children and my wife back to the zoo Amneville we enjoy our stay to get to Bullyland to Spraitbach, a small village in the middle of nowhere!! near
Sorry I think I lost the other images of his vaccances, then a problem with the computer, I just scans its four photos I had saved in another folder.
The park, the cafeteria with Jane in person and Volkmar Klaus and French Bulldogs
