| Ladies and gentlemen, the chicken has landed. It's that time of year again... eggs, fluffy yellow chicks, gallinaceous ornaments galore. A local shop started selling these fairly nice but badly painted figurines, so obviously I had to pick up a few to repaint! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I found a book on poultry breeds of the world (a must in any well-stocked library ), and apparently that's all it takes to get me hooked. It doesn't hurt that this is one animal that is quite easy to find in model form... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The brown Schleich hen I already had, but she didn't really come into her own until I got her Bullyland friend. There's something in their attitude.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Tinies! The made in China cheapo is way nicer than the Bullyland micros, really detailed. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This guy is just weird. Anyway... *drumroll* Let the thread commence? Or are you... chicken? |

| I enjoy watching chicken collection, they are very cute :) Some of these models I see first time. The rooster looks really funny I don't have any hen in my collection. My son has 2 or 3 though so I may take photos of them :) He had really beautiful CollectA rooster but unfortunately lost it somewhere... I think any birds which I could count as poultry are my mallard ducks and goose by schleich but I use to think they were wild _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

Ducks and geese a different thread some time? I will have to pull together a photo, I have s few interesting chickens. The same here even I'm enjoying seeing yours. I don't have a single chicken. Many foxes here! I'm more used with scientific classifications, like Galliformes (Chickens, turkeys, grouses, pheasants, peafowls, etc) or Anseriformes (ducks, geese, swans). They are very distinct groups, I guess! :) |

| these are amazing!!!! the white pair are works of art! their paint might not be "realistic" but it's brilliant. The black one is very striking. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] _________________ carolynn

| What a lovely show of Chickens! To us, "Poultry" is everything that you would find in a poultry yard. So we unpacked the Ducks, Geese, Turkeys, Guinea Fowl and Pigeons ... and packed them all away again ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Back in 1956, Lesley was given this family of White Leghorns for her birthday. | They are WONDERFUL , Sue and Lesley I can`t believe that there are so many of the old metal ones from Britain, - the chickens are absolutely delightful ! And the one nesting ! And it seems that by them they could make defferent breeds Thankyou for sharing from your enormous treasure of models again Yesss!!!! Then my memory isn`t quite gone...I was sure that at some time I learned that "Poultry" was just as you describe : The feathered ones that the farmer`s wife went out to feed in the morning...ducks and geese and turkeys included |

| I hate the word poultry, but here are the birds that live happily in my farm sanctuary :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]That brown one in the front nearly missed the photo shoot but luckily she's a good runner! All Schleich, except for those 2 small Starlux ones. _________________ my website: Noora's Ark (last updated 13th of September 2013)
