What an impressive figure!
CollectA did a hell of a job on this one.
The paintjob is very neat and tidy and the skin pattern is beautiful.

And yeah they sure did a good job on this one, but do keep in mind this is a Pre-Production Prototype, that being said that their production model may vary to how this one looks and we all know what happened with their "Mapusaurus roseae" ..

So yeah, see what I mean? Pre-Production Models can often be loads better and loads more accurate than production models, and with this Pre-Production model of their 2014 "Mosasaurus hoffmanni", I hopefully evaded this mistake from taking place again.

Yeah I think I can remember you showing me this one haha xDDDD         It is also kind of unexpected for me getting the Pre-Production Model of this 2014 ColelctA Mosa alike xD

I don't know what happened there, but those are two totally different animals in my opinion.
I'm almost certain they weren't even sculpted by the same person, they look so different.
Let's hope CollectA will never make this mistake again and give us a beautiful Mosasaurus.

It's always nice to have a prototype though, because they are usually painted with a lot of care and love.
You have a treasure from the deep for sure.   

Uhm they were, it's the perfect example CollectA has done, the Pre-Production model is how the animal was supposed to be, as accuracy goes, the other one was the outcome, they simply messed up
And yaaaps I love the Proto, it has indeed been sculpted and painted with tons of luuuv xDDD       

Haha ouch! That's messed up! The hands are totally different.
I feel sorry for the person that sculpted this.
It's like giving CollectA your prototype that looks like Brad Pitt,
and they give you back Danny DeVito ...

Prototypes of Dino toys nah this is my first encounter, but I will always be looking for more, even how hard it will be,but as being a Mosasaur fan and collector myself ED made this as a special exception for me, in that sense

One thing to remember is that the skinny CollectA Mapusaurus as seen in the prototype photos never got produced and none were sent out before release.The only version that saw the light of day was the revised thicker one.So I would expect the Mosasaurus to come out exactly like the one you see in the pictures you provided. 

Oh the prototypes of the Mapu were made as far as I know of, just one batch though, like 10 or 12 of them   
These were used to preview and sell commercialize the product, as is done with many other Pre-Production Prototypes

Well,even if they did change up the mosasaur,at least you still have the prototype version.

Tylo, congratulations for your new "protomosasaur"!
I love the figure, unless the prototype looks excelent and you surely deserved such a special piece!

In 2012,CollectA wasn't totally a serious company,but I think these kind of errors wouldn't happen now as CollectA has given a real jump of quality.Mosasaurs are my favorite prehistoric sea lizards,and this model is stunning.
