What a fantastic sculpt Harriet! Really impressive. Congratulations. If you do paint him (and if you did, I'm sure it would be wonderful!), please post pictures!

GOR-GE-OUS. Wow. he's really breath-taking! A perfect horse standing still is infinitely more impressive than a so-so horse in a flashy pose.

I don't know! I wouldn't want to ruin him, I don't know if I'm confidant enough to do the colour I'd like. study

The Resin Directory isn't much help, but at least they're bay dapples.

why not do some test run paint jobs on schleichs or breyers to work out the color you want, then you can do this guy when you feel ready.
i can't wait to see him in all his glory!

Thanks for the encouragement Christophe and Carolyn! Very Happy
Oh I like Chris Nandell's version, I wish I could get it as good as that - I'll maybe do just that Carolyn, practice on some Breyer. I'm all inspired now... Laughing

Congrats Harriet! You are stepping into very dangerous ground. Resins are addictive!

But I cannot wait to see how you bring these lovely sculptures to life! :)

oh he's gorgeous! and the dapple pictured on your blog, drunken drunken drunken
congrats!!!!!!!!!!

i'll see if any of my pals know how many "bisque" resins were made. there can't have been very many. i only knew of the ceramic and the mass-produced made in China painted ones. if i had to guess, i'd guess that Karen had them cast here in the US, as opposed to it's being a blank from the factory in China.
how much does he weigh? the ones made in China weigh about 5 pounds. affraid

Wow, very beautiful sculpt! Congratulations Harriet! I look forward to seeing it after you've painted it too. (You should of course buy two of each resin: one to paint and one to keep pristine. That way, you can keep your cake and eat it too. Very Happy )

Oh that's great, thanks Carolyn cheers
He weighs almost 2 Ibs - the seller I bought him from said she bought him from the US.
I love his scale, I prefer this scale to the trads.

Isn't it just, I was searching dapple greys and these two photos stood out from all the others I looked at, the pattern is unusual to me, it'll be a challenge but I'm looking forward to it.
