| Not the best replica of a cougar but a cougar indeed. The figure is massive and it makes you think in a jaguar, isn't it? But the face, eyes, tail and ears are of a cougar. Unless I believe in it! |

| I suppose it is supposed to be a panther,- a black leopard. Hmmm, the shape of the head is perhaps more like a jaguar - but AAA very often use one mould to make different cats with The shape of the body is more like a cugar. A very well fed cugar I love this model, I have never seen it before Congratulations, Ken PS, Roger, you are always so observant |

| Thanks Susanne! I forgot 2 things! First congratulations for your addition then it was supposed to show that picture. Obviously this cougar has the front and back legs very close what makes it look more compact like in your figure. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This image was found here. |

| Here AAA black panther from Doc's collection [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]...and AAA cougar from Willy's collection [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I don't know why the figure is so dark but the sculpting is of a cougar, even the texture is more correct for a puma than for a jag or leopard. |

| I agree with Roger that the shape of the figure suggests that the model was intended to be a cougar. (And it sure looks like the same mold as Willy's cougar pictured above, but painted differently.) Moreover, I may be wrong about this, but I don't think there are any black cougars. (Not only is it possible that I'm wrong, I'm probably wrong. However...) I seem to recall reading that most scientists believe that reports of black pumas are most likely spurious.
As for the model, it seems like it is a cougar mold painted black (or made from dark plastic).
Harriet, I would love to see you paint a figure like this! If I ever find one, I'll send it to you (to keep of course) just to see pictures of the results.
Ken, it's a lovely model as it is! Congratulations!

| Thanks everyone! I have clear my doubt now. Initially on the first look I just forced myself to think is a Jaguar. Probably I like Jaguar more than Cougar!! |

It's color is identical. And the body length is a bit longer according to the picture that's up there. There is no Black Cougar. The Panther is nothing but a melanistic Jaguar. Similiar opposite to an albino White Tiger. |

| Its beautiful! It does look like it was intended to be a cougar by the body. It looks more like a black jaguar though! _________________ Kelsey [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." ~Anatole France |
