| Finally he arrived! A really great horse, not that beautiful and graceful, as Arabians or Iberian breeds, but he has a strong personality, I believe. And his name is Ruah, that means 'Breath, air, wind, spirit' (this is how Lynn named him, and I love that name). Isn't it a good name for such a horse? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]His details are amazing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Smiling?) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He's not very tall (shown next to the Breyer Classic Arabian) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And I still have no idea about the color. There were lots of suggestions, but... I'm afraid I love him naked

| He's GORGEOUS! But I think with some colours he will look even better Resin models are incredibly detailed. I wish I could afford some, but they are far too expensive for me - even a Breyer Traditional is a big expenditure for me. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

Resin models are incredibly detailed. I wish I could afford some, but they are far too expensive for me - even a Breyer Traditional is a big expenditure for me. He's very expencive for me as well. But I got him on time payments, that helped a little. However, most of the ARs I really like are far too expencive for me (even on time payments), so I mostly dream of getting some one day=) |

| Wow, I didn´t know about this model, and now I want him so badly!
I think an orange chestnut with minimal sabino and small facial markings would be very nice for this guy. Maybe a pair of birdcatcher spots on his left side, and lighter mane and tail endings. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

He's still available for preorder till August, even on time payments, so you may try to get him, you know) Orange is a good idea, yes) However, I decided to wait for Vata (his playmate), and think about their colors once more as I get both horses)

Indeed he is And what's even more rediculous, several months after the sales are closed he would be HTF on reasonable price. Fraley's pretty mare, Saddie Shoofly's price (that looks really great together with Ruah) on MH$P is about $ 350-400 now (twice more expencive than she used to be). |

| oh wow! you got one! Congratulations! I looooooove that horse! All of Lynn's work is awesome and this is one of her best. I can't remember Ruah's friend's name, but he is great too. I love that AR artists are doing horses that are just goofing around having fun, with goofy looks on their faces. Have you seen Masggie Bennett's Superlumina and Supernova? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Drool worthy! You're so right about getting ARs when you can- next week this fellow's price will have doubled--- if you can find one! _________________ carolynn

Yeah,I did it:) Thank you:) I'm really in love with Fraley's equines and when I saw Ruah I realised I couldn't resist:) - Quote :

Quite agree with you:) Her models are really nice, and full of life. It's a pitty that some of them are so HTF now. - Quote :

I think you mean Vata? AFAIK he's not completed yet, but those of him she has already shown is really, really awesome. I hope to get him as well, they'll look great together. Her are Sadie Shoofly's also really nice, and I believe she might be fitting Ruah even better than the other ones, by she seem to be rather rare now. And expensive:( I have a dream to get her painted by S.Michaud or Liz Shaw one day... - Quote :

Yes! And that's the thing I really love about all those ARs. All these small details, and expressions on their faces, and... Well plastic ones seem to never have such personality (unless they are old Breyer Classics:) - Quote :

Drool worthy! Yes, they are marvellous! I even regret at times that I' not an Arabian fan:) - Quote :

Indeed. And it's really great that artists give an opportunity to get the models on time payments. This allows us to add some new horses to our herds from time to time:) I even regret now that I failed to get Sadie Shoofly from Lynn Fraley when I had such opportunity... |

| I decided to rename the topic into ARs in general, as long as I don't mean to leave Ruah the only AR in my collection:) So here comes the second guy:) Meet Garron the Highland Pony, sculptured by James Richmond (Horsing Around).[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He's an unexpected addition to my equine collection, in fact, because I wasn't going to buy him, but his face is so nice that it was almost impossible to pass by. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I cannot say that I completely like his building, I think his chest should be wider as he's supposed to be a draught horse (and his heck is rather heavy). Not to mention his hind legs and back. But, anyway, we's very nice and could become a great war horse for my knights, yes) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He's not as detailed, as Ruah, for ex., but better than plastic ones, anyway I hope to make him really beautiful by finding a bright suitable colour. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]By the way, 'Garron' means 'Highland pony' in Gaelic [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Very beautiful! I love his face and mane such a sweet horse Congratulations, that's lovely newcomer! About color, wow, it will be hard choice probably but I believe he would look amazing whatever You choose. He already has really cute personality so color will only help him to show that :) I would see him in bay dun or dunskin perhaps? _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

I have the same problem as with Ruah now) It seems to me that he's sweet without any colour.... But I was thinking about dark grey (almost black) with a pale head and some light grey under the elbows, barrel and point of heap. MastiffcatHe's not very popular among AR collectors I believe:) SeijunIt depends. This one was about 90 Brittish pounds (fully prepped), but he's not very popular and rare. Some models may cost up to $1000 and even more:) An average price AFAIK is sth like $200-300. RogerNot yet, I'm thinking about the colour:) Dun is a great variant, though I've been thinking about grey:) |

Some models may cost up to $1000 and even more:) An average price AFAIK is sth like $200-300. Seijun, i've been looking at resins a lot and Daria is right, the initial release price of a traditional size seems to run $200-$300, unprepped. The smaller scale - 1:24 size seem to be around $100-$150, and Stablemate sized $70-$100. Those are very ballpark figures. It depends on the artist and the complexity of the sculpt, and the size of the edition. But the moment an edition is closed or sold out, the price skyrockets. Assuming you can even find one! Good luck if you ever want a Stormwatch! _________________ carolynn
