| Mucho gratulationes Miguel! Finally the Lineol virus captured you to! (o)): Now that you had those figurines in your hands, you can only imagine and understand the real class these figurines had for the time they were produced in... Besides from the way of painting, the modelling was awesome for that time, and not very much worse, or even better then modern figurines! They don't need to be expensive, it is a matter of searching, and how rare a model is... But that they are more expensive then plastic figurines seems to be logical of course... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Muchas gracias Wylliam !!! It's true, these figures are works of art made to perfection. It is logical that they are slightly more expensive due to the difficulty of their lealizacion and seniority and it is worth paying for them. Yes, I'm hooked on Lineol!!! Miguel |

| Fantastic figures Miguel! The Lineol are just wonderful. I really like that Striped Hyena and the slab of flesh hanging out of its mouth. (At first I thought it was its tongue, but I corrected myself.)
Looking back over this whole thread, you've really put together an amazing collection of Lineol figures!!

| Miguel, although I dont' have it, I know in real this hippo and it is another Lineol masterpiece. Also, the less interesting point of Lineol figures is their painting what in a hippo is not a huge problem. So it is Excelent. The zebra foal is another great piece, look at these long and delicate legs, the small hooves, the traditional foal configuration of the body. A brand with excelent sculptors and that wanted to make replicas and not cute toys. I am not so enthusiast with the striped hyena, but I can see that the body is not as short as in CollectA figure, also the concept is interesting and of course a great addition. Congratulations! |

| Thank you friends , I'm glad you like it !!! Roger, It is true that the word "cute" is not exactly what I meant (sorry for my poor english, sorry for...) . It is a very realistically representing of the animal. Also right to say that painting is one of the few mistakes of this brand, especially in certain figures, but the correct proportions, relaxed postures of the figures very nature greatly exceeds these errors I think. Here are one of the most wanted figure and hard to find. 2012 was the year of this animal for us , the colectors.. Yes, the sable antelope. I am amazed with this figure and it is another of the masterpieces of the brand !! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Whit his new horned family (some sable calf on any brand peeease !!) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

No, no, the word cute is perfect! A zebra foal is always cute. It is not your English or even mine. It is hard to explain even in Portuguese or Spanish. Some figures are made to highlight the cuteness to be more atractive to young customers. It sometimes destroys the realism of a figure. A real zebra foal is already cute enough, doesn't need extra cuteness. When I see these fragile legs, this tall body and the slender looking of it I only can feel that it is realistically cute. Congratulations also for your sable, a magnificent piece that worth what it cousts, not only because it is rare but mainly because it is magistral! |

I would say, almost exactly the same... Sorry my friend but for me pose isn't everything, even if they are the same size it couldn't be compared... _________________ Robert

| Actually there is not much which you can compare with the high quality of Lineols... VEB Plaho made only cheap copies, because the Lineol company was broke more or less, and went into the Marolin company, which was ceased by the state of the former DDR, and became the VEB Plaho. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| It is very interesting to see them compared. One of the several things that makes Lineol figures look more realistic than others is the fact of making very delicate legs. The Veb Plaho, being smaller and of a different material, have thicker legs what makes a huge difference. Of course that is only one of them. But honestly, not being comparable with Lineol, I also like the Veb Plaho figures. |

Of course Rogério, it is maybe the only superiority of composition on PVC, it is hard enough to make thin legs, horns and tails. But I believe that LINEOL are often more realistic than a lot of modern figurines because this firm made realistic animals with realistic poses for kids. That's why I said somewhere that LINEOL and STARLUX are coming back in 2013. STARLUX because the brands are making more and more unusual species as the old French company did and LINEOL because some brands are making more and more realistic models. (o)): I would be happy to think it is a little bit because of STS forum |
