| It's now or never! Does anyone could explain me why everybody says that schleich gazelle is Thomson and Schleich website is saying Cuvieri??? That question is important for me and I guess for Kiryuha too! |

| Well, there are quit some gazelle-species that could look like the Schleich gazelle, but is is obvious that they are Thompsons... But i think, because Schleich has problems to make a male model with nice and thin horns, they said, that these 2 models are the Cuvier gazelle, although they do not match the profile of that species... So in the eyes of most collectors, they are still Thompsons, and we wait eagerly for the male model, otherwise we use another brand to match with the two Schleich! By the way, before the question comes again... The male gazelle is made by the Nayab company in China, but brought out for several brnads, like Animal Classics-The Nature Zone here in Holland, or Kim Play, and many others... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Thanks Willy for the pics and explanation! Makes sense and I agree that is more similar to a Thomson but official info was other. We have too Schleich Emperor Penguins that Schleich is calling king penguins (chiks) and its parent is a King penguin... etc.! So this things are confusing for a new collector! |

| The name that Schleich gave to this gazelles, came much later as the model was brought out... So there is some room for thinking in the collector-scene... The first Schleich penguins were called king-penguins, as they had the colours of the emperor. Now they did better i think with the newest models. The two species do look very similar, although the king is smaller then the emperor, and the king has orange, and the emperor yellow on his head, but i think they know, but never thought really well with naming them... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

That question is important for me and I guess for Kiryuha too! We have discussed this issue earlier. I think that Cuvieri is just a mistake of site content editors |

| Another addition to my collection, the Schleich Yak. It's a beautiful model. When I picked it up, I was surprised at the weight of it. |

| What do you mean you lost the photos? Aren't they available in your blog? You can just copy them back into your computer... _________________ Born to be Wild and Free!

Thank you Ron, Susanne, Kristie and Gabe Yes you are right Gabe, most of my photos of my animal figurines outside are on my blog, but I have thousands of others of real animals, landscapes and family that I've lost. The only trouble with the ones on my blog is that they are reduced, so the quality isn't as good, but I'm glad I still have them yes! _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| I used to back up my photos in a flash driver (or whatever you call those things now). It's easy, reliable and portable. _________________ Born to be Wild and Free!
