A unknown serie from Maia & Borges - Tropical Fish

Hi Friends,

i found a very interesting serie of tropical fish. They are identic with the old serie from Schleich, but marked with Maia & Borges. I know Maia & Borges made in the past several figures under license of Schleich. I didn´t know that Schleich gave them the form to make own figures.
The form is absolut identic, but the painting is completely different. They seems to be very rare

Where did you find these Torben? Are these new? I haven't heard of that company before but then that's why I am on this forum to learn new things! When it comes to coloration and markings on these little fishies which company painted them correctly? Stunning discovery, Torben! I believe the entire Schleich korallenfische line was manufactured in Portugal. This is reminiscent of the Gund plushie dino find.

Surely you must feel a little like Dr. Leakey did at Olduvai Gorge oh so many moons ago..... :)

That portuguese company is no longer selling those fishes. And distributions were only made out of Portugal. I'm a poor portuguese far from portuguese fishes.
I suppose they are turning rare itens. So, fish lovers, let's start buying it...

I guess, i will have a set like this very soon too!

I think none of the sets is exactly accurate with the real species, specially those butterflyfish, which have many different species, so it is hard to find out which species they ment to make here...
I am an expert on fresh-water fish, the expert on salt-water species in Philter4 here..., where are you Phil?

There are more good and beautifull "things" in Portugal then toys only...
