WOW WOW WOW!!! Just been through 21 pages of GORGEOUS DOGS!!! How I love this forum already!! And the collections on here are soooooo big and so complete!! My collection seems small compared to all of these wonderful dogs!
And sadly I always assumed that Schleich dogs were the best, so have only just started to hunt for those from the other brands and have realised I am very wrong! I am so annoyed that I missed them over the years! Which is why I am now only going to collect dogs because there are just too many wonderful models out there! And Susanne your Schleich and Bullyland dog collections are incredible You must have every single one, including variants and that rare and wonderful tricolour beagle! Thank you everyone for all your dogs!!

The unknown one at the front is especially nice, such a sweet face! And of course the K&M retriever, I love the fur detail; on such a small model! And the other little one is very cute too, congrats on such wonderful dog additions!

This topic is definitely my favourite on STS, so I was so excited to see this new model!!!
What a lovely little dog, with his little tongue out too- I'm guessing he is a generic dog rather than a particular breed, but he could definitely pass for a black lab! I'd also love to know what brand he is, I've never seen this wonderful pup before?

Today I took some photos of my dogs. Now, I don't really collect dogs. Not as such. But my first and favourite toy/model horse brand is Julip, and although they concentrate on the equines, they do make a few typical stableyard and pet animals to go with them. So it's almost inevitable that if you're a Julip horse collector, you're going to end up buying some dogs and cats, maybe some free range hens, or even a fox or a hedgehog!

As with the horses, the emphasis is less on super-detailed and realistic sculpts, and more on cuteness, collectability, and especially, their individuality - if you send Julip a photo of a breed, or your own pet's specific markings, they'll do their best to match it as a unique portrait model.

Here's all the dogs I've collected over the years...

These are all the larger-breed dogs - foxhounds, dalmatians, labradors, golden retrievers, and a bernese mountain dog. As you can see, they're all the same mould! The 'fluffy' breeds on the lower right are made by adding extra latex and letting it dry before painting.

And here's all the smaller dog breeds. Well, except the spaniels on the top row, which are that labrador/hound/dalmatian mould again, but I didn't have room in the first picture!
Far right on the middle row of terriers is a portrait of my childhood jack russell, Patch, who they copied from old photo prints.

And how amazing that they customise models to your dog too, your little Jack Russell is so sweet!
I love the variety of breeds and colours- and the golden retrievers are absolutely gorgeous- and complete with collars too! And I just love that little Terrier with the basket of flowers, and they look so good in a conga line- the lovely Border Collie, Fox Terrier, and the JRT far left on the bottom row really caught my eye- these dogs have so much character!
