Well, if you're using it as a base coat or primer, I'd say yes. I repainted a Schleich fox to resemble a "silver fox" color phase, and I spray painted the model black to begin with. I sprayed the coats lightly and evenly until the entire model was covered. I did two coats, and I used flat black Wal-Mart brand spray paint. From there, I started painting up layers of regular, water based craft acrylic paint in black, added silver highlights and white details. all the paint worked well, and I ended up with a very nice alternate color scheme to a regular Schleich red fox. So yes, you can use spray paint, just be careful.
