| It turns out i dont have to wait a week. Diplodocus. Diplodocus is one of the better known Sauropod’s, with four known species. It is notable for its long neck, and whip like tail that can created a cracking sound thanks to the supersonic speeds it moves at. Its tail consisted of around 80 vertebra, where’s its neck only had 15. Rather or not it held its neck horizontally is currently up to debate. The dinosaur gets its name thanks to a row of chevron shaped bones underneath its tail, normally these type of bones would be v shaped but in Diplodocus case, they were T shaped making look like they were double beamed (the meaning of Diplodocus’s name.). Diplodocus is also among the most famous dinosaurs thanks to the American industrialist Andrew Carnegie whose paleontologist discovered a complete specimen, and displayed it in his museum. He also made 11 copies of it, and donated them to some major museums around the world, including the Natural History Museum in London England, were it can be seen to this day. Though it is possible for Sauropod’s like diplodocus to stand on its hind feet, (as seen on this model.) it was highly impossible for it to keep the position for very long without breaking its legs. The only reason it would stand like this is to knock down trees, like the way Elephants do today. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Everyone say a prayer, cuz this ones a real Sinner. Diabloceratops Diabloceratops was discovered in 2002 and got its name in 2010. It was named after a evil deity Called Satan, who was a character from the Holly Bible that was cast out of the Kingdom of Heaven, into a land of constant torment and became its ruler. The horns on Diabloceratopse’s head frill are said to be reminiscent of the Evil Deity who is commonly depicted with a pair of horns on his head that were curved upwards. As of now, only the skull is known from this dinosaur, so scientist have to rely on other ceratopsians when depicting it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I am delighted with the artistic expression of this dipodocus! The figure as a somewhat decorative concept. I know those are irrational points when judging a figure with scientific interest but the fact is that it pleases me a lot. The Diablo is also very nice, it seems the brand tried to give him a demonic facet to give justice to his name. Coloring and pose are also great! |

| Scelidosaurus This armored dinosaur is among the first of its kind, and it was the ancestor of Stegosaurs, and Ankylosaurs. It was also one of the first dinosaurs to be discovered while mostly intact, however, scientist have yet to understand exactly how the dinosaur look. When it was discovered in the 19th century, the methods for removing the skeleton from it matrix was very difficult without damaging the precious bones. It isn’t until the middle of the next century that new methods were used that involved really weak acid, that dissolves the rock around the skeleton. This method however, takes a real long time for it to be completely dissolve, (Paleontologist ,Thomas Holtzs says it would be a century and a half before it happens). The Skeleton was Found in marine deposits, suggesting that it lived along the seaside coast. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| OK, this is the last two figures for CollectA until the Second Wave of 2013 figures comes out. And there not evean Dinosaurs, or evan liveing breathing things. There plants. Please forgive me as plants are not my specialty, an there is a possibility that the infomation could be mistaken. Williamsonia, Cycadeoidea , and Monanthesia
Williamsonia was a Cycad like plant, that had a sturdy stem, fern like leaves, and produced flowers that were up to 4 inches in size. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Cycadeoidea is a prehistoric cycad Genus that has a few species, the first of which were described by William Buckland, and they are C,Megalophylla and C,Microphylla, however these type specimens had been lost, so new type material has been chosen. The leaves on these plants had evolved to be tough for herbivores to eat. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Monanthesia is another cycad like plant, and it was originally thought to be part of the Cycadeoidea Genus, however it was latter assigned its own Genus instead. | Finally, got something new to post here Pachycephalasaurus Pachycephalasaurus is believed to be the largest of its kind. However, its mostly known from its Thick domed skull. For the longest time, many think that Pachycephalasaurs(and its Kin) used its thinck skull to charge at eachothers heads during mateing time. However studys of the neck have shown that it was unable to withstand the force apon impact. A alternative theory is that they used it for flank butting there oponets. Either way there is evedence of some type of trauma on some Pachycephalasaurus skulls, and it is beleved to be the result of agnostic behavior. | Ok Two new ones for this Thread. one is a Brand new acquisition, the other hasn't been moved here from the threads older days (when it was just a bunch of threads) First off its Deinotherium Among the wide array of prehistoric elephants comes this short trunked species called Deinotherium. The Deinotherium Genus lived from the middle Miocene to the Early Pliestocene. There tusks are a bit unusual as they point and curve downwards, and there purpose is under controversy. Some think it used them to strip the bark off of Trees, while others think that they of rooted the soil for plant material and roots [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Second its Megacerops Megacerops was an odd toed ungulate from North America, and was most commonly referred to as the brontotherium. The name brontotherium, originates from the fact that when native Americans found there fossilized skulls washed out of the earth after a rainstorm, they thought that these creatures ran across the sky, causing thunder to roar with there feet. | I really like those two. They are very detailed and I like the colours too. You can almost imagine the thundering sound Megacerops makes while galopping into the sunset. And they are BIG!

| Those two models have a good looking, the pose is not static and I like that I have the Megacerops on my shelves for these reasons. The Deinotherium is not because of the neck, I can't understand this neck The head is so nice... But the neck ! |
