| Because the proper place for an Ibex is right in the Alps. Pic taken at about 2.200 metres (7,200 feet), in Kanton Graubünden, of which the ibex is the symbol. It's an old-ish pic, taken in the summer, hence the lack of snow, safe for some small patches. | Awesome pictures from an awesome landscape (o)): We don`t have mountains in Denmark, and the only place we have real rocks is Bornholm, a small island which lies close to Sweeden. So it always makes me feel so small when I am near one...they are so incredibly huge Do you live in Graubünden ? |

| Very nice pics (o)): I moved the topic to the "outdoor photos" forum Do you believe it? I love very much the old rocks full of small plants which give them incredible patterns. I used to pictured some in the past |

| Thanks for the encouraging comments! As soon as mountains become safe again to go hiking I'll take the little guy to some other peaks and will shoot more photos. - Kikimalou wrote:

Did you know they are actually a combination of two organisms, a fungus and an alga or bacterium? (some info here) I enjoy taking pics of lichens on rocks or trees - I like the abstract patterns they create. :) :) I also take pis of patterns you can see on the bark of different species of trees and on rock formations. :) Nature is beautiful. _________________ My collection gallery!
