Well, I have a feeling that there were 2 "Asian Rainforest" type sets.
Here is one of them:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I dont have any animals from that one, but I do have the Japanese macaque. It is from 1997, numbered 4.

I also have a red panda from 1997, numbered 5...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

and a water monitor lizard from 1997, numbered 6
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So I am guessing that there are a 1, 2, and 3 out there from 1997 that are Asian rainforest animals not from the other set

Well, back in the years of 1997-1998 I think K&M was making sets of high detailed, hand painted animals, better than the tube ones. The sets came as six figures, numbered 1 to 6 (like the Playvisions sets of 8, numbered 1 to Cool. So, i figure, if I have 4, 5, and 6 from a set there must be a 1, 2 and 3 out there! But, unfortunately, I don't know what they are yet...

here is another pic of one of these sets that was posted here by another member
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There were several other sets of 6 too.

Wow thanks so much for this pic!!! I have always wondered about these sets.
I have a couple from the endangered, a couple from the Serengeti, a couple from the north American, a couple Asian, and a couple pacific ocean...but no complete set. Do you ever see these around anywhere?

I love your proboscis monkey, could you post a pic of your endangered set? I only have the Malayan tapir and the ring-tailed lemur.

I've wanted to know about these for so long!

Did you have any other pages though? Because I have a harbour seal from 1997 numbered "1" and a red fox from 1998 numbered "4", an I dont see them in these sets. Maybe there were some more?

There is a set of K&M dolphins I wasn't aware yet. Got these wonderful fellas with a lot (and thought from the picture they were the usual Safari toob ones, so it was a sweet surprise)

They are nicely detailled, marked '97 and with numbers from 1 - 6 (?), I miss at least two of them. Maybe they are from another bulk set that was not shown here yet?

Many thanks I love you
Isn't is astounding how many series K&M produced - and how few we are aware of? scratch
I bet there are tons more yet unknown treasures to find...
(one of the reasons I just love job lots, you never know what surprises - good or bad - they keep for you)

i think i have seen both these figures in your collection. i ordered the kelp forest tube long ago and it never arrived.  Sad
however, i bought just this nice seal on tapirback.com. there it was listed as a hooded seal.
i do not know everything that was included in this toob but i remember several fish including a blue sheephead fish, a grouper, a crab, this seal, a sea otter, and kelp on a base. there also could have been an octopus. that is all i know.  Very Happy

It seems that K&M made 2 groupers because you mention one in the kelp forest set and there is also one in the coral fish tube. I have the coral fish grouper but not the kelp forest one.

No I don not think. You should post a picture Andreasnof both groupers. First of all, what is even in the Kelp Forest set? scratch
