Hi All! My first post on this forum. I wanted to post pictures of some small Safari ltd figures that I got from a bin some years ago. They are miniature sized, but of a higher quality than the Safari toob animals – they are made of a strong, heavy plastic and well painted. The ones I have are all North American forest/arctic animals. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The fox looks pretty happy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It’s a lot bigger (and bolder) than its forest toob counterpart. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I really like eyes on the caribou, very cute-looking. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It looks like it could squeeze through a pretty tight gap…. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The musk ox reminds me of a farm-grown sheep. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It’s dwarfed by the hulking Playvisions musk ox. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The howling wolf, compared with a wolf from a wild republic tube. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I love its expression. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The walrus has a big smile on its face. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here it is, next to a safari sea lion from the sea life toob. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Elk is one of my favorites. It is a lot chunkier and “softer” than the Playvisions elk. Its antlers are at least twice as big. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I really like these models, and I wish I had more of them. Although they are not as accurately proportioned as the playvisions models, I think they have a distinctive “charm” of their own, especially their faces.

Hello, Phrog , great to see you and your models They are from the Safari "Authentics" series. The reindeer, musk ox and walrus are the Arctic set, the others from the Forest set They are ever so beautyful and interesting

Thanks for the ID as safari "authentics" series, realized that I have these guys as well: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I am surprised at how much they sell for on ebay! Yes, PV elk is very nice! I wish very much that I could find more Playvisions in Canada, but animal bins disappeared from the stores years ago. I can buy safari tubes and Schleich at some stores, but all of my playvisions are ones I kept from childhood. Are there online stores that sell playvisions? I've heard that Ebay is the best option

You have a wonderful collection of the rare Safari authentics, I vaguely recall seeing a few of these in bins when I was a young child. I also have the fox in two colors, wolf in two colors and will soon be getting the elk, reindeer and arctic fox, the walrus is completely new to me, I have never seen him at all! These guys are great classics!

Today I got a little knockoff of the Play Visions Queen's Purple Wrasse from the plastic fish set! Not as nicely painted but still super cute! :) Play Visions does do a nice job.
