| Last one for today. Hyenadon Hyenadon is a Genus of Carnivorous mammals that were endemic to most continents except south America, Antarctica and Australia. They lived along side other predators such as Entelodonts and Bear Dogs, and they had large heads to use for hunting. Despite the name, these animals have no relation to modern hyenas. The largest of the Genus was Hyenadon Gigas which grew up to 3 meters long, and the smallest (Hyenadon Microdon) was around 50 centimeters. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| WOW ! I just LOVE that Hipparion And the hyaenodon is marvellous, - I love the painting ( Perhaps except the "dangerous" yellow eyes ) and think it is very interesting that they have given her a mane !!! The Eobasileus is indeed a great model !!! Funny, - Starlux has one, which is called Uintatherium in the leaflet I have, but the Uinthaterium looks like this |

| Eusmilus Eusmilus was what scientist call a nimravid Or False Saber tooth cat. It may look like a cat, but it evolved seperetly from the true ones. Eusmilus was the largest of these creatures. Its jaws have been known to open at about ninety degrees, which pales in comparison to true Saber tooth cats like Smilodon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Amebelodon Amebelodon, was a Elephant with a shovel like tusk, which would make it a member of the Gompotherium family of Elephants. There are four species to this genus. It is believed that they first appeared in North America, and then migrated to Asia Via the great land bridge that connected the United State of Alaska to Russia. The smallest species grew smaller then the Modern Asian Elephant while the Largest grew larger then the African, and came close to the size of some mammoths. The strange shovel tusk that this Elephant had was thought to be used to dig up water bearing plants, and to scrape the bark off of trees, all while its Trunk helped it feed the same way modern elephants do. | Last one until i get the rest. Megatherium As far as prehistoric Mammals go, Megatherium is arguably one of the most iconic, as it is basically a giant version of a creature that is known for being rather slow. Megatherium was no different in that regard, though it mostly had no reason to be fast because of its size and one swipe of its claws could cause any would be predator to back off. It is often Depicted standing on two legs, but in reality it would only do this to reach for food in trees. Most of the time, it was a qaudroped. Its diet defiantly consisted of Plants, but some scientists think it supplemented its diet with meat by stealing it from other predators. Other Scientists think it was an active hunter, that could flip over Glyptodonts to eat there tender undersides, but this is just speculation until they discover fossil evidence that proves this [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Hi! Congratulations! It's enlightening to see that most of the other releases look far better than on the promo pictures. Although Hipparion still looks somewhat derpy I'm planning to get him around christmas, so I'd be very grateful if you could please tell me what's it's height (without the base) and possibly it's weight? I'm trying to estimate the shipping costs :) I read somewhere that he should be 1:20 scale, but he looks somewhat larger than Schleichs. |

| Thanks Takama for keep your interesting posts about these mammals. Probably you already told but are these figures identified to the species level? For example, do you know the exact amebelodon species? |

| They are not species specific and I have no idea if they are based on the specific species. That is one thing I still have troble with on some cretures. thogh I bet the hyenadon is based on H Gigas |

| Thanks Takama! It seems Battat provides the species name in their prehistoric figures contrarily to GeoWorld. |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Hi! Thank you for your answer! It's going to be very useful. So they're around the same size as an ordinary Schleich horse. Well at least it isn't larger than a Shire XD I'm planning to order them from Dejankins when I manage to save up for the shipping :) Have fun |

Just an FYI These models may be in boxes, but they are not immune to paint rubs. You may or may not get some rubs on your figures. I don't blame Dean, but the people that sent the items to Dean. If you look on my Megatherium, you may notice various rubs on it, and its has the worst damage to the paint. Also the Hipparion is held in its box by one plastic wire holding the the base of the animal to the box I just thought I let you know of these things before you order. |

| A trumpeting macrauchenia! Despite the bad reputation of Schleich with prehistoric animal figures, what is fair, it is also fair to tell that their macrauchenia is still on top. |
