| Yes, I expected better detail from a company like Papo.
I prefer Schleichs new one over this |

| I expected much better from Papo, especially with how their detailing has improved. I will say the color on his horns is better than the previous but... the body is worse than the previous. I like his charm, as you say Susanne, but I hoped for better. Congrats anyways! And I haven't seen that bullyland bull before, is it very rare? I might be interested in one someday... _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I confess while watching your great pictures that I was thinking that Papo usually improve a lot their figures on 2nd generation. ... and it is not easy to accept that the first one looks better but I really have that impression. After reading others comments it is easy to see that many of us are not impressed with this big boy. Though, it is almost as charming as an old Starlux but that's not what we expect from Papo, isn't it? I know you love it and that he will be happy with you and Ferdinand, the Spanish Fighting Bull surrounded for American longhorns! I suspect there is also a Mojo longhorn on your collection and perhaps a Collecta? Thanks for your walk around! |

| Hmm, I'm not too impressed with this figure - I was expecting more detail. He reminds me of Breyer for some reason. Congratulations though Susanne _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Yep, probably because of that flat and glossy head finish _________________ Robert

| What happened? The difference between the proto type and the final product is HUGE! If I had pre-ordered this bull based on the pictures Papo provided beforehand, I would be dissapointed. To say the least... Don't get me wrong, it is a lovely longhorn. But you would almost think you received a bull from a different brand. Luckily he found a good home with you. You always have love for all the beasties, good or bad, ugly or sad, or with a face only a mother can love. :) |

| I'm afraid to say I'm a little bit disappointed too. But it's because we've come to expect such excellent models from Papo and even this year, their Grizzly, Gibbon, Scottish Terrier, Charolais Cow and Calf, Gharial -- to name just a few -- have been so fantastic. So for me, it's only that the Longhorn is just not meeting our expectations. I will probably get it anyway though. I like Papo too much.
(I am worried now, however, that the Tigress won't be as good as the photographs. That would be heartbreaking.)
Thank you so much for posting photos of the Longhorn Susanne! It's really wonderful to get such a good look at the model! |

| Ok, I came back to look at him. I like him enough to get him, however here is my critique again. Honestly, the only thing improved is the horn coloration. The previous bull was good (i.e. good pose, fairly nice sculpt for the "era" Papo was in at the time etc.) and this current bull looks worse (body wise) than the first one. I do like the way the paint makes it look like there are rings in the horn, like calcium rings or whatnot (I don't know anything about that sort of thing, so its my best idea of what that is) and then the body is just not really textured at all. It's a smooth blob of plastic that looks like a bull. Anyways, I will probably still get it for personal reasons, I do like his charm like Susanne, but the production pic looked amazing and raised my hopes for this model. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Thanks Scott and Paige, - yes, I think he isn`t THAT bad. We just expected so much, now they made a new one while they still have a brilliant model... Tex is standing on my piano, - and seen from a little distance he isn`t reallt that bad. Those close-ups are terribly revealing, and perhaps not completely fair But then again...Papo CAN make cattle that do well no matter how close you get... |
