I love palm trees, my favorite has to be the lipstick or sealing wax palm, which has a beautiful red stems and has been introduced to India from other areas around Southeast Asia where it is native. A very close second has to be the talipot palm. This is a big tree, up to 25 meters tall, with bright fan shaped fronds and a huge infloresence. It has one of the biggest infloresance in the world, the difference between an inflorescence and a flower is a flower is singular, while an inflorescence is a bunch of tiny flowers growing together to make a bigger flower. This tree is native to India and only fruits and once in it's life. It doesn't flower until it is at least 70 years old, and the flower lasts about a year, so for it's last year of life te tree is beautiful but there are no models available for me to purchase so I must improvise

Here is the first photo of the tree as I am finishing it, I still have to finish painting the leaves, and I was thinking of thickening up the flower stalk to make it fuller and adding more fronds but we will see.

It is amazing. I never heard about that tree before, - or maybe I just don`t remember.
Googling it, I can see that it only blooms once in it`s life, and the blossoms are considered great news and are shown in the newspapers Shocked

I love your tree, - and I love your sharing, I learn something new from you ever so often study
