Schleich 2015 Tiger 14729 Walkaround, by NightLioness on page1 and Kikimalou on page2

Recently I bought the new 2015 male tiger from Schleich.
I must say, I am really surprised by the quality of this animal.
Paint job is great, love his face!

I love how the bottom of its feet have little paws painted on I also agree, with Schleich's recent releases, I'm surprised by how realistic this model is Congrats

Very pretty model indeed I suspect that Schleich is using an new technique with the patterns, and it is not hand painted each stripe, but the use of a template they paint from. I see that also on the new Knabstrupper.

I like his face too, very accurate, but I think his red color is not much not natural, isn't it?

Red? In my hands he is orange tinted.
Maybe it is from my photos he looks a bit red on your screen?

He's not as terrible as I expected but then he's very well fed Perhaps he's a zoo tiger?

Breyer and Stone use a masking technique - I don't know if Stone uses the exact same thing but Breyer has a red masking material that goes over the model and allows the painter to remove the cut-out spots. They airbrush right over the masking and once the masking is pulled off then you have nice clean markings. It was very cool seeing this done at the factory in NJ. All I know for Stone is their masking is tan, like the consumer's masking tape, not red.

Sorry, I mean orange color XD Tigers have other shade in real life. But I like that model in general :)

Yes! Sounds like something like that! Now also for Schleich

Really cool that you've seen it live! It is in that process those feared 'smudges' can occur I assume

That's an interesting figure from Schleich. It seems a little massive and legs look somewhat short. Though, it is massive in a way that makes it look strong and not chubby and I like that. I agree with Susanne, this tiger is surely the best Schleich tiger of ever and the brand already made several. I will only not tell it as the best big cat from Schleich before seeing it in real because there's a very good jaguar in Schleich range!

Well, I'm more excited about this new Schleich Tiger. It looks really nice. (Not as good as the Papo, but still worth getting.) I'm glad they've improved both the Tiger and the Crocodile!

I strongly agree with Roger here. Indeed, without having seen the Tiger in person yet, I'd still say that the Jaguar is the best big cat put out by Schleich. That's one of my all-time favorite models and my favorite model of a jaguar.

Big improvement on this one Bulkier than the oler one but it gives me an excellent feeling.

The painting seems also upstairs, maybe this Schleich could be a good lesson for other Occidental manufacturers...

This tiger reminds me of the tiger of HE-MAN

Thank you. I never liked the waxy material, it makes some of the figures feel cheap, I'm glad this one is the regular material.

Not bad! He looks pretty good actually,better than what the stock photo showed. The stripes are quite detailed.

Once again, I want to show you a few pics and my two cents about the new Schleich tiger.

I was on a "no more tigers" mood since the last Papo tigress with cubs. I have 31 tigers and cubs from 1920's to 2014, I guessed this was enough... Then I discovered the Papo 2015 range and I thought it would be hard to resist him (it is easier to resist on the web than in a real shop with real tempting model. ). Nevertheless I will try        

Whe I saw the Schleich tiger official pics on STS, I thought it was a big improvement and that it looked a lot like a Safari Ltd tiger. I thought it would be easier to ressist this one

But, but, but, but at the shop, when I first looked at him I didn't think about the Safari Ltd tiger. Another tiger came immediately to my mind and I also immediately now I would not leave the shop without this figure.
