Night Elf's New Additions (Yowies, Nov 17, 2017)

Congratulations for your new cute friends! That Safari hare was always a mistery for me. When a company describes a hare simply as a hare, it is usually an European brown hare. Though, that figure belongs to a collection of North American wildlife what suggests it is a jackrabbit. That's correct, jackrabbits are hares and not rabbits... but which species? When I see that white ring around the eye, I only remember the cape hare that is an African species!

Congratulation for your nice additions. The rooster is indeed a great model and it's true real breed are very rare in the Toy world. I alos like very much the French bulldog, mainly because I always feel thisndog breed is the perfect Batman dog

I still don't understand why the Safari Ltd howling wolf is still our of my shelves. This old felow is a lesson for more modern wolfs like the new weird howling Papo

I googled the African hare and I see what you mean! Very strong resemblance. I suppose this model could be an Arctic Hare or Alaska Hare in the summertime, although they don't often have that ring around their eye and when they do it is not as bright and prominent as the Cape Hare's appears. What a neat looking species, the Cape Hare!

Thank you! I really like the Safari wolves. I have three now and I'm hoping to find their 2014 standing wolves locally.

Two new additions this week.  I was picking up worming paste at the feed store and I couldn't leave these two guys behind. I had been wanting the Lusitano for quite a while and realized I had better grab him since he's retired. And I couldn't leave his adorable roan Quarter Horse buddy. I really like the styling of these sculpts and the colors they used. They remind me a little of Breyer Mesteno and Sombra. Plus no bows or braids...

I had not come across him before. Wow, he looks amazing in palomino.

Those two are some of the most beautiful Schleich horses yet, in my opinion, despite anatomical flaws. Great that you got them two retired ones.

Lots of new additions this month.  I discovered Schleichs at my local Walmart and a nicely painted zebra mare somehow found her way into my basket. Then I went a little nuts at a toy shop that had a full Schleich display. Lots of Schleich dealers in this neck of the woods. Not enough of the other brands, though.

Lots of lonely babies! I should have bought the Haflinger mare to go with the foals, but I was having an anti braids-and-bows moment in the store (I'm over it now, she's still adorable ). I'm not sure why I liked the fawns but not the adult deer. I suppose my Safari Reindeer can keep them company until I grab some CollectA deer. The Safari white tail deer also look like nice sculpts if I can find some that aren't so orange.

I really like your Dartmoor foal, mine's so diffrent in colour... can i ask where you's was made?
The deer fawns also! I still need them for my deer collection!

Mine says Made in China. I think all my Schleichs are marked China, even the ones I bought in 2009. I guess it makes logistical sense for the US to get them here cheaply.

I agree, she is adorable. Pictures don't seem to do her justice. I don't know why they are retiring the cute ones, unless they will offer them in new colors like the TWH.

Hello all,

Well, after a very busy 2016 I have been extremely remiss in posting new additions like I have wanted to. I unfortunately have some chronic health issues and most days of the week I only barely have enough energy to make it through the work day and take care of my critters at home in the evenings. But I have found a little bit of time here and there lately to take pictures and upload things. I have got a question about the hanover collecta mare .. are her ears really that long?
And is the akhal theke collecta mare really only 2 colors? like gold en black not deatilled?
I think they look not that good (i wanted them, but know i'm falling back)
