| Hello, I'm looking for the most accurate elephant figure I can buy from Schleich, CollectA, Papo, Bullyland, Mojo or Safari, that are the brands which I have access for the moment. I need the figure as a refference to sculpt a larger one as the mount for Belshazzar King (I sculpt Nativity Scenes). I know Schleich last elephants are very good in textures and details but not good at all in proportions. I've been looking at the 'Show Your Elephants' post but I can't tell which one would be the best for my purpose. I'd prefer it to be an African Elephant as Belshazzar is traditionally represented as King from Africa, but an Asian elephant would also be well (I'd change the rider and put Caspar, who is thought to be an Indian King). I would appreciate a lot your pieces of advice and your photos showing the profile of your elephant figures. Thanks a lot in advance! |

| I also really like the Papo asian elephant, what a cool guy! For African elephants: Have a look to the new one, also from Papo, it seems to be a very good one! _________________ Find me on Instagram

| Thanks, Susanne and Bloodrayne. Papo Asian Elephant is one of my choices. I decided to buy it after reading an enthusiastic review by Kikimalou. I think he's a great expert in elephants anatomy.
Bonobo, I've just know about this new Papo African Elephant. Thank you. I'll wait until someone have seen the real thing and confirm the good looking of the photo. |

| I am not an expert but I have my preferences and my favorite are Britains elephants. Though, I am hoping one of our elephants experts see this topic and give you a good guidance. |

| Thank youm Rogério. Come on, Cristophe, I'd love to know your opinion, I've read lots of your posts and I always appreciate your point of view. From the 5 brands mentioned, which is your favorite African Elephant (I take for granted that your favorite Asian is Papo)? |

You're right as usual! My mistake! I also think you are one of our elephant experts but that you're not a big enthusiast of the elephants of these companies. Major brands are still far from some vintage masterpieces in this regard and almost every year we see new elephants on market. Sincerely, it is very uncomfortable to be seen as an elephant expert when you are not Xacaca, if I have to choose among these brands, I would make two choices. For the Asian elephant I would choose between [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I prefer the Papo's shape and the Bullyland size. Both of them are excellent choices. For the African elephant, I would wait for the new Papo before deciding. For the same reasons than previously, I would choose between the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Beware, Bullyland is now selling a small replica of this one.

| Thanks a lot, Christoph! I think I'll go for the Papo ones, Asian 50131 and African 50010.
Susanne, thanks for the info! Is the new Bullyland African Elephant worse painted than the old one or it is the picture? |
