Well if I would have bought the cheaper version I would have never know that I just bought something so rare and special. I didnt buy it but that goes to show that we never know it all. I am just starting to collect these fun little figures and I learn somthing new daily almost. I thank all of you for making this a fun and very informative website.

Yes but the seller said under this figurine is the stamp 1994. But only the figurine 16332 has the stamp 1994 under it. And he said that he don`t have time to make more photos, but still have two beagles more.

So i think over 200 Euro is still enough for it.

So THAT one was perhaps a repaint of the much newer 16332

Since I wasn't going to bid on any of these, I did not make any attempt to verify their authenticity. I have no idea whether they are repainted fakes or not, but there are so many crooked sellers of models like these now on eBay.de that I wouldn't be surprised if they are all fakes.

There are sellers who are not only repainting beagles, but also the 14070 zookeepers to make it appear they are the blue and white variant.

Perhaps the dark beagle is only a fiction. Ore has someone seen him in old catalougs.

Why do you think something is wrong when 1994 is on the bottom? Gascher's said that 16302-1 was in stores 1994 und the 16302 was in the stores from 1994 - 1997. So it is not usal to have 1994 on both of them? Most of my figures have the year before they arrive in the stores on the bottom, but some (especially older ones) have the same year on it. So I'm interested why you mean it's impossible for the beagle to have the 1994 on the bottom.

I'm quite new in the Schleich-scene, so I'm also quite clueless and I hope you don't mind silly questions

Your question makes lots of sence, but the year 1994 wat not moulded into the beagle untill the version 16332 came in 2003.

Yes, it is totally silly, but Schleich did the same with f.inst the sitting Berner Sennedog. The new version that came in ´05 together with a mate and puppy has 95 moulded in it, while the real old one has no year-mark

Many of the old dogs don`t have a year molded in them, I checked a few of mine : Cocker, Boxer, Beige foxterrier, none have a year, perhaps more dogs don`t?

It's a great forum here, I can learn so much new every day! When I understand it right the "real" old ones are the one without the year-mark. So Schleich have to change all of the "old" mold-forms, as example for the sitting Berner Sennedog, and have to add the year-mark 1995 to all of the old mold-forms?

You mean when the new 16332 Beagle 2003 hit the stores the two Beagles 16302 and 16302-1 got the year-mark 1994? But they aren't produzed in 2003 anymore?

Der Beagle 16032 hat keinen Jahresstempel, wurde aber 94 produziert.
Erst die Neuauflage von 2003, der 16332 beagle hat einen Stempel 1994 und Made in China.

Vielen Dank für die Info! Aber wieso gibt Schleich dem neuen Beagle 16332 dann die alte Jahreszahl 1994 und nicht 2003?

You are not silly, it IS confusing. Also English is not my first language, so I may not explain very well

What happened was that the dark beagle 16302-1 was only produced for one year.
The light 16302 was made the same year (according to Gascher`s) and the production of this version was continued till 1997.

Then in 2003 they began making it again, but now it was the custom to put the year on, perhaps they put the old year on as not to pretend it was a new beagle?
They also added the "made in..." to the model.

I am not an expert in mold-making, but as far as I can see it was quite easy to do, because they just had to remove some material from the mold

I think this is correct, Susanne, but we should wait for Peter, as he is the expert on these things.

Yes, it is much rarer than the 14070 blue/red/yellow zookeeper. Until last year, we didn't know of its existence, but Torben acquired one and published the photo here. Then, a certain mega-collector in the UK won one in an auction...

Now, it is clear that there were more than a few big collectors in Germany and elsewhere in the EU who had them.
