Hello, I have been adding my recent vintage composition finds to TAW but have two unidentified as yet. Perhaps you know them?

First is this lioness. She looks in style and color a lot like Hausser Elastolin but this pose with the looped tail is not in their catalogs. Does anyone know her?

Then there is this bear. A very dark brown though the shape is much like a polar bear. It came with a batch that had some Chialu in it. Could he be that? The general feel is like those Chialu I have. I will be adding them to TAW in the next few days. Any thought on this one?

Thank you for any help on these.

Good to see so many still active here. Sadly I have not been for some time, but I still add to TAW as I can. Playmobil has been keeping me busy with many new variations and animals these last few years. I can barely keep up with them.

The bear is not of Italian manufacture. If it is heavier than the rest of the compo figures of its size and has a "colder" feel (by the fur finishes, the edges in general and the two slim cracks you see, I would say yes) then it is Neoform.

The lioness, by size could be DDR (But it doesn't look like the eyes have his “stamp”)
or Effelder... or maybe Pfeiffer or Tipple Topple, I am not sure.

Hi, thank you for your help. TAW has the bear and it matches nicely so I will file it under NeoForm.

Hm the 1955 Tipple Topple catalog sheets show two male lions and a tiger with the looped tail, but not a lioness. That may well be a possibility. I will keep looking

Hi Tim, the lioness was made by Elastolin in the 50s. In the first Elastolin book by U. Raue the lioness has the number 079-16.
