| Carolynne has show us her collection of sheep, and I got the idea it could be fun to see all the kinds of sheep that we have in total. I start with two sets of sheep that I like very much : The elder ones from Papo, and the ones from Reisler. The latter must be 50 or 55 years old. You can see some red marks on them. It is my Mom`s nailpolish. I marked MY figueres so my playmates could not say they were not mine Papo : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Reisler ( The lamb to the left is also Reisler, but made much later) : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Does anybody have other sheep to show ? |

| I love this Papo family. They're so silly! I have to get the ram still. The lamb is one of my top favorites - he looks so confused! I covet your Britains! That ELC Lamb is truly one of my favorites. It's one of the most realistic of all lambs, if not the most. The ELC Ewe on the other hand, looks like a basset hound with wool. |

Thanks Carolynn yes the elc lamb is realistic - I wish the other elc sheep were as good. I love Britains, the sheep are really cute and I love the shepherd, even though he's a bit worn. |

| The expression on the Papo ram is wonderful! In our part of the world, the two main cash crops are Sheep and Tourists. In our collection, there are a lot of Sheep, so this will take some time. To start with, here are some ancient metal Sheep from Lesley's childhood, mostly made by Britains Ltd. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Common Sheep: Ram at left. | Ken, such beautiful flock, thank you for sharing! I love your Bullyland ewe and lamb. Their paint is wonderful. Please think of me if you ever decide to sell them! I love the Safari ram and ewe. It's so unusual for anyone to have done a "heads up" breed, that I adore these two. This board is inspiring me to try my hand at remaking a model, and I think I will start with this pair. All they need is to fix their ears and they'd be nice Kerry Hill Sheep, I think. Fix the ears and build up their noses and they could be Blueface or Border Leicesters. Actually, they could be worked into a lot of breeds.... |

Because I never saw before such a beauty! I have another "Nayab?" sheep, a elegant ewe but is secret! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Your sheep are wonderful, Rio. The have short legs just like Icelandic sheep, - but the horns are larger. I hope I did not force you, I was just joking Sue and Lesley, As always your figueres are gems beyond compare, - the little boy is precious also I think I can recognize the "Bah-ing" sheep, perhaps I have one, but in a miserable condition. But she is cute anyway, of course |

Sorry, ladies! ...but when we collect a species we learn to love all, even the scary ones! I think it could work as a Miniature cheviot sheep! See here, well, if not you may keep it as Roger's sheep! :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Susanne and Roger, the sheep are from the Safari Farm Series, which hit the UK in 1991. It was a high quality series with family groups of specific breeds. It included some beautiful Jersey cattle, but we bought the Blackface Sheep ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]... and the Clydesadle Horse family. This is the mare and foal (recognise them, Rio?) . [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Clydesdale stallion ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]... and his tag. The mare is belly-dated 1990. The stallion and foal are 1991. On its website, Safari says it started as an educational toy company in 1980. A different source says 1982. Sue & Lesley castlerigg |
