I am very happy that he arrived safe and sound

And thankyou for your kind words, friends , - Harriet gave me the last Classics-dino I was missing, so thanks to Harriet I have all the classics prehistoric figueres now. What a joy to be able to give Harriet a small thing also

It is really so heart-warming. Do you remember Sue`s idea that we send a figure round the world to be signed by members of the forum ? It seems we are doing just that, only not with one figuere, but many

I think we can recover this idea with the first Mojo sable antelope, a choice of us, or with the Schleich black panther! ...

I know about the MOJO Sable Antelope but what about the Schleich Black Panther, is this going to be a new one for 2012 or you are talking about the already retired one?

If talking about the retired one and if you have one spare Schleich Black Panther I would like to buy it as it is still missing in my collection and someone beat me on e-bay when trying to get it.

No, the retired one! Unfortunately I also don't have it! The Mojo sable was suggested because is the first figure of a brand choosen by the members of the forum. The Schleich black panther because it is Torben's avatar! Anyway is a hard figure to find and put travelling around the world, maybe the sable is a better choice!
Anyway I think the Schleich leopard is quite nice and Schleich easily could make a black panther using this mould but this is a different question! :)

I don't have any red deer and I think this one has been retired this year, so I got him and I'm so glad I did, he's beautiful! AND he's made in Germany

I bought this one beacuase a beer company in my country uses these deer as they're logo,and they have very funny commercials!

He is fabulous. Even if Schleich mad many different red deer, it IS a very, very beautyful animal, and Schleich makes them so well

This Schleich Red deer, does it vary a lot in colour?

Yes, he is already not in catalogue! He is beautiful, I've bought the complete family to Nicole! Anyway I can't find one for me that pleases me completly! I hope some of the 2011 are better! If not I'll choose this one! Congratulations! :)

Thanks Roger, I'm so pleased with him - the new red deer cow looks gorgeous, I have her on the way with her calf. I hope they arrive tomorrow

At least those that I have seen...

What a great photo of a red deer, Harriet.
It remeinds me that we never see the models with that gland under the eye.
Also they have a light area round and under the tail.

BTW, where I live is one of the only places in Denmark where there are wild Red deer.
A bit up north from here is a small heard that they think have lived there since the Stoneage ! DNA-analysis shows they are different from other red deer .

When on horseback one can get quite close to them.
The first time I saw them in the forest here, I thought it was loose cows, they are so huge !
But then they ran in between the trees, and I could see the white areas ( we call it spejl, - "mirror") hopping away from me, it almost looked like seaguls flying between the trees

That's lovely that you have them near you Susanne and amazing how long they've lived there!! That photo I posted was taken in Denmark - it's from Wikipedia, beautiful photo isn't it.
Yes, you're right about the gland
I've seen red deer in Scotland, but we don't get them around where I live, unfortunately.
