Today I have new model to show You:sichuan takin. It was ordered by our friend Christophe-Kikimalou.

And this time I have very good news:after many failed trials of mold making and casting I have some good results at last Very Happy. So I have copies of takin model. It is 7 now. 3 are still unpainted, but I took a photo of painted group:

Wow, Wow, Wow affraid :) :) ! Absolutely fantastic and then just so many. Ana, You are truly the best of the model craft, I think I'll let it be forming own models Neutral.

Can you describe how you made the mold and castings? If the form of silicone and casting compound which do you use? I wanted to try this also, but did not have any experience with it.

Do you have one for me,Ana?
When I was little,I used to have books with counting and finding animals in a very coloured page.
At the Hymalaian region,I spent hours searching for the last takin.I was my favourite ever since!
Yours is so beautiful!

I'm happy You like takins Yurumi Very Happy Well mold making process is quite difficult-I would not describe it all here, now. I would try to find websites which helped me to learn. Now I cast models and make molds with help from my husband-he is much better in technical things Embarassed For casting I use polyruethane resin, which has very good physical parameters. But if You have more precise questions-I would answer of course.

Seriously ana, I give you one of my dream and you made it real. cyclops

I'm just a dreamer but you are a great wizard Very Happy

This takin is awesome and I'm very happy to share it with everyone here. It is a long time now since the birth of the project but I was happy to wait because I like very much the idea of molding and to produce more than a unique model.

I think it is more fair for time and talent Ana spent on it.

I also think it's good to know that some people in the world will have nearly the same model and it's for me a good feeling to know that : Sharing is better.

I already have a jewel from Ana, the Drill, and I know I will be happy with that new one. I know the one who will buy one of these takins will be very very satisfied.
I was ok to wait the time Ana need to did this and I hope we are just at the beginning of a great story.

Yes Christophe, you are a happy man, I am a poor man, I have not takin as a model! Even if a one would be left for me, I was again a poor man, as determined too expensive for me Crying or Very sad Sad. Or Ana, I would take an unpainted Takin, maybe it does not cost you as much Wink question question

But I think it's good what you say, sharing is better. Happy good man :) !!!

Very beautiful model. Ana you are very talented. I hope to one day have some of your models as well. They are far better than any that the current manufacturers produce because you take the time to study what you are doing and make sure they truly represent the animals. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

How fantastic !!!

Ana, your work is fantastic and Christophe, thank you for thinking of this animal ! I have yet to see one easily available for sale but this piece is a work of art.

I can sympathise with the mould and casting process. I have a rabbit sculpture which I would like to be either turned into resin (so I can have a few copies) or perhaps a different type of material. A good friend of mine, who creates resin horses, has shown me a step by step guide. It can be very expensive, depending on what material you want to use, but the results are worth it and expenses can usually be recouped if sold to the public or a run of 50 are made.

Hi Friends,

today i received my takin model from Anna. It is simply wonderful. A real highlight for my small collection. It remembers me on some old Elastolin or Lineol animals, but it´s more detailed. I hope i can buy in the future more from Anna.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thank you very much for this amazing model.

Gratulacje. Bardzo dobrze zrobione.cheers
