| I have another one: look at the two ladies (middle and right): [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The left one is the stallion. There are a few similarities to his mare. |

| My goodness you are right! Prz horse has been recycled to make the female Zebra. Of course it makes sense as both are so closely related and similar in size and shape etc. Great image. Cannot believe I missed that. |

| Very good observations The Zebra and Przewalski is all new to me, very interesting they are in fact in family And I really like the Zahor horse(and knight), one of the few quite sinister figures made by Schleich. _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

| Great post AlienMantis There are so many I've never thought of. And that Mojo foal... That's highly suspicious What kind of copycatting is that? Even among bigger brands? Now I just wonder who was first? _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

| This is everything very interesting. I remember that I've found the Przerwalski boring similar to zebra sometime ago, also some people commenting their similarities but never figured they are a reworked mould. It means that the horse was produced during a single year but was able of keeping 4 years in catalogue, it is not impossible considering it is a not very good selling figure. About Mojo arabian foal, it is not surely the same mould as Schleich although they look very similar. They even have a different body conformation. As it surely happens with all brands, market was studied and there was some inspiration. the 1st Mojo and Schleich ARabian horse are also somewhat similar, I guess, as well as we can find among all brands with many other figures. Though, there are many examples of brands that used moulds from other brands, the Safari and Schleich mountain goats, is a known example as well as surely Safari used the Colorata mould to the chinstrap penguin. It is great that you're sharing all of this interesting connections with us and supporting it with fantastic pictures. |

| Carola, you are so right - perhaps the poor mare has a Christmas depression While checking out the whole lot of 2014 horses still sitting on my desk, I found another possible relation - the old Trakehner mare and the new Fjord. The share not only the legs but there are also some similarities in their body. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Oh, another set of very good and informative photos with a very old and very new Schleich Actually it looks like, in your photos, that the Fjord is not that different from old Schleich horse anatomy.. He just has a VERY muscular neck and bulky face, which I suspect is just the sculptor based him, of course, on some characteristics for the breed... The Fjord sure looks very sweet, I can't wait to get mine ! And the old Trakehner - what a beauty. Clear that Schleich have improved a lot in texturing and paintwork, naturally _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

| That's surprising! Schleich = too much consistency. |
