Grevy's Zebra and Indian Elephant Models

I started a 3D grevy's zebra a few months ago as a test to try something new.  
Its still in the early stages but I'm learning the zebra anatomy as I go.

These are static poses that will be posed to something more interesting after I'm done sculpting.

Also, I've just completed a model of the Paris Zoo Indian elephant Siam.

And I am very, very impressed by the elephant, - this shows that it is possible to make a model Elefant, that really LOOKS like an elefant, - the movement is completely, 100 % Elefan-tastic

How do you find sculpting the zebra? I've always imagined it would be difficult to sculpt striped animals - I think the stripes would confuse me on what the shape ought to look like. And it's really interesting to hear that you can sculpt a static pose and then change the pose around. I would think you could make a whole herd pretty quickly, then.

I really love Siam! I wish the big model companies would make such impressive tuskers!

Thanks to everyone for the comments, I'm still sorting out the files and doing test prints.....hopefully I will have a shop up running soon so these models can be purchased for those interested.

It is possible to print in colour but I haven't tried that before.

The zebra is pretty similar to a horse so it is not as difficult as it seems.  I find the stripes help to show the form of the body and actually help to define its anatomy.  Yes, multiple poses can be obtained from the base model.

Fantastic work again! The Zebra looks great and I can't wait to see Siam when He's done!

I am working on a bull African bush elephant now but it is not done yet.  I plan to put this model for sale in a few weeks to my Shapeways shop.
I have not done any more work on the grevy's zebra.
