Thank you so much for all the compliments and encouragement. I just hope my classmates think the same when I present this as this year's 'independent study' project. I'm actually surprised it was eligible as one.

Thank you Signatus and Jonesee. As I promised, here are some more lion and King Cobra pictures: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here are some progress pictures: Bison: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I'm not quite happy with his nose & mouth, I'll more than likely have to fix them. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]My elephant. Front view: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lastly, I thought I'd share my bongo: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Its a little unbalanced and there are three unconnected wires in each leg I put there in an attempt to stabilise her. I just hope it stands. I was going to make a baby to go with her, but due to deadlines, it may not be possible. As always, constructive criticism is well-appreciated.

Yes, really nice looking... First, The cobra and lion fits well together ;)Nice! The bisons are wonderful so far. Great job on them! Yeah, I understand you are a bit worried about the elephant. He looks somehow odd. I believe it is something in the chin?! Or the neck is too long? But he is so w.i.p so there is nothing to worry about. Like him yet now! I love the bongo too! Just cannot wait to see final result! _________________ Jonas Animals are my friends. I don't eat my friends. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thank you, 4U, Jonesee, and Widukind. I didn't add the chin yet, but I can't wait to give him his characteristic lower lip.

I think I can help you out with your elephant, I did a quick draw over to show my thoughts. The main thing is the neck needs to be shorter, I hope its helpful. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thank you Jonesee. I have started texturing my bison: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And painted my Tapir: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Not quite happy with the tapir's paintjob yet. Its not visible in the picture but some of the fur markings have white paint in them. I also have a question, if I may ask; is there any technique to give sculptures a velvety texture, such as bongo hair? I don't think my current techniques are working too well as they make hair look more shaggy.

A velvety texture suggests that it would have a shininess or light reflective quality. I would experiment with mixing a small amount of metallic paint with your base colour. You could also then pick up some highlights on the raised areas of the texture by dry brushing with a slightly lighter shade. Depending on how shiny you want it you could also try lightly brushing a clear coat to finish, but be careful not to use too much. _________________ - Tahnaya [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] https://www.minizoo.com.au/

Thank you for the advice. I'll be sure to use it when the time comes, however, I must apologise, as I had meant, by texture, the clay itself, not the paint. I appreciate the information, though.
