Antecipation of PAPO Smilodon!

I don't like the Papo smilodon, simply because it looks like a dog. It doesn't look catlike at all in my eyes.

yes papo's is second. BUt in the word's of Ricky Bobby, First or Last Baby!
though to each his own, papo's one does have his/her merits

a fight scene with Safari vs Papo smilodons would look good in a diorama, don't you think, their poses kind of complement each other when u look at it

...Oh,yes I,m agree! I,ll wanted to make this "fight doiorama" (because I like dioramas ). But! Unfortunately I cant to buy Safari smilodon in Russia, there are no almost Safary models in our shops (besides tubes)...

Remember, according to most experts the Smilodon was a big cat, but was very "uncatlike" in many ways. Actually, the smilodon was more closely resembling a bear, at least in the forequarters.

Still, having said that, I am not in love with this Papo smilodon. The forequarters are much too thin, he should have bulging muscles in the forequarters and his forearms should be thicker. I only have the Schleich Smilodon, and don't really like it, it looks like a very angry rat. The Safari LTD model does look to be the best, so far. Plus the Papo one is too big to be in scale with my other figures, maybe?

The old Carnegie Smilodon, is nice! Just needs an updated re-paint!

You're probably right, I don't know too much about the Smilodon. I still don't like the Papo one - the Safari ltd one looks very nice but I agree with Baltimore Zoo it could do with an updated paint-job.

Managed to get the Smilodon and a Neanderthal man on Ebay for £5.00!!!Both are in great condition and the Smilidon is a a great model-so pleased to have gotten him!!Will try and post pic if can!!
