Oh, what a lovely customs you've made the past weeks I especially like your lippizaner descendent line. Very interesting and also beautiful customs. I've never really read into lippizaner ancestors. I do know about the thoroughbred "founding fathers" as I have pedigreed some thoroughbred model horses. Anyway, I guess your local schleich distributor must be running out of schleich lippizan molds Your little Eohippus is a very charming little guy again you've thought us some more history about horses. And you've done great research too Can't wait to see more _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Anne-Joke [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ajs.artistry - Instagram AJs Artistry Shop - Etsy

Thank you Last Saturday I've visited my first Model Horse Live Show in Bensheim, Germany (as a visitor only). I think I've gotten an idea of what does live-show-quality LSQ mean plus I've seen a lot of very nice horses and colors and tack I'm into lipizzaners so this is a lipizzaner-summary of the show: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Some other photos: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I've bought some bodies: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A new horse, can't decide if he/she is finished or do I need to add some dirt/imperfections: PBA, Harlequin's Tear [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Yes that was ring 12 Since this was the first model horse show I visited, I have no feeling for its size... - Ana wrote:

Yes it is every year, this was the 14th one in Bensheim. It was, so it seems, a bit more Breyer-oriented, since it was organized by a german Breyer store. They seem to have a lot of such "Live Shows" in Germany, this is what I managed to figure out at the MPV forum: 13.09.2014 LS Bonn 20.09.2014 Stuttgarter Live-Schau 04.10.2014 Hannover Classics 11.10.2014 2. Aachener Round UP 25.10.2014 2. LS Magdeburg 01.11.2014 Model Horse Lübeck I have no idea about the size or content of these shows... |

tnx A little horse-intermezzo, since it's so cold This is a custom of "Carneval Ride" in a croatian region of Slavonia. Its roots are historical: horsemen used to patrol the borders of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and guard it against the turkish intrusions. On the way to and from the border they were passing through villages singing songs and sometimes the villagers would offer them some food and drinks. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This event transformed into the todays carneval rides and is being held in many villages during February up to March. The best looking horse, and also the rider is chosen The horse is a traditional slavonian "peasant's" horse - the lipizzaner. Slavonia (not to be confused with Slovenia) has the largest number of lipizzan horses owned by private breeders in the world. Most of the horses are breed typical greys. However, there is also a large number of dark horses - bays and blacks. Croatian Folk songs mostly praise the dark horses. In them bays or blacks are usually referd to as a "treasure" (I guess it was indeed much easier for a peasant to take care of a dark horse) Today, many people also especially treasure the dark lipizzans. As an example, a price of a nicely paired carriage couple of black lipizzans is enormous when compared with a gray pair. Many of the gray horses are fleabitten grays - this is almost a sure indicator that a horse is a heterozygous gray so Gg not GG. This means that there is a 25% chance of getting a dark horse when two Gg horses breed, and explains their large numbers.

The live show must have been so much fun to go to. All those lovely customs! Eye candies everywhere I am, like every one else, very curios to see what you'll make of your newly achieved bodies. The last custom is also very nice! I don't see anything you should change. Your little intermezzo about the treasures is very nice and interesting too. I like your informative parts a lot, and wouldn't mind if you do that more often Soon everyone on STS will be a lipizzaner expert _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Anne-Joke [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ajs.artistry - Instagram AJs Artistry Shop - Etsy
