- When I watched the picture, I haven't found any comparison with Schleich grizzly female. Maybe my head is not full of Schleich! The only comparable thing I see is pose. But when pose serves to call copy to a figure, so the Schleich grizzly is a copy from several other vintage bears. It is not exciting for me that Mojo is releasing brown bears, but I have to remember that it is a new species in Mojo range, actually, it is the 5th species of bear after polar, American black, giant panda and sunbear. Mojo hasn't repeated any of these species contrarily to Schleich that in decades made less species and every year introduces one of the same trio of species (panda, polar, grizzly/brown). In this point I think Mojo doesn't deserve any criticism and has no comparison with Schleich. Mojo 5 species in 5 years, Schleich 4 species in 35 years! Figure seems less chubby and toyish than Schleich counterparts but I need to see a comparison thread with the CollectA brown bear that is the current representative in my collection.
I agree completely. I really like the female. The pose of the cub not so much, but that is personal _________________ ~Karin~

| Based just on the picture provided, I quite like this Bear. As Susanne and others have pointed out, the pose is very similar to the pose of the old Schleich Grizzly, but otherwise, it's a very different model. I'm a fan of Bears, so I'll be getting this. (But I am slightly selective, even when it comes to my favorite animals -- for example, I did not get the CollectA Black Bear that came out this year.)
I think this Mojo Brown Bear looks quite nice!
Roger is quite right about Mojo. I'm a fan of the company even though they aren't blowing us away this year. That happens and it's not quite fair to compare Mojo to Schleich (everybody's favorite punching bag). CollectA is really spoiling us.

They surely are But in this case, it seems that Mojo is better than CollectA. I keep feeling there is "something" slightly off with the latest grizzlies from Collecta, - just can't put my fing on what it is . _________________ SUSANNE |

Of course CollectA is really spoiling us Indeed it reminds me the old Starlux: Fashion and diversity Plus, CollectA is more and more accurate Nevertheless, Mojo 2015 list is not finished so there is still hope. I guess James philosophy is to show us the cherry on the cake at the end - scot(t) wrote:

Susanne, I agree about the Brown Bears. I've come to like the CollectA brown bear, but I like it as an aesthetically pleasing toy. It's not realistic looking (the adult). The Mojo appears to have it beat in that respect!
I don't agree with you. Ok, the CollectA brown bear is an aesthetically pleasing toy. Not only, it is also an accurate bear who is so different from "classic" point of view that it changed my way to look at brown bears and animal toys. Indeed I like the way CollectA is showing us "classic" animals from an alternative angle. Even with classics, this brand wants to be different. I like this! The Mojo bear seems very promising and well made, nevertheless it is still very classic. |

| I like the CollectA (though I personally don't have it yet), but the thing that bothers me is it looks like it's neck is just really long with the position it is in. I like the Mojo because of the better proportions, color, fur texture, etc. I just want to see the shape of the face, but obviously can't due to the angle the pic is taken at.

| Just as Christophe, I find the CollectA brown bear a very decent and realistic figure, as Christophe stated, it only doesn't fit the classic style we're used. Mojo's look very decent and if I like it I can use both as different subspecies. There's also the new Safari Grizzly waiting for our judgement! I am using Scott's excellent picture to show that CollectA figure is not very far from realistic, the real bear pictured is a massive Alaskan bear! |

| Curses. My own picture used against me! Seriously though, I am a big fan of the CollectA brown bear. The aspect of the sculpt that, to my mind, feels "unrealistic" is actually not the proportions so much as the texture of the coat. It feels very stylized. Perhaps "unrealistic" isn't really quite the right word. The Kitan, for example, looks more "naturalistic" to me -- not just realistic, but not super stylized. The CollectA, on the other hand, has a expressive quality -- one that I like a lot -- but it doesn't strike me as naturalistic as this new Mojo Fun does. (To be fair, I also think that the older Schleich 14323 is somewhat "stylized" as well, although in a different way. It has always looked to me a little like it jumped straight off the California State Flag.) |

| I think the new Mojo may be a good material to repaint into Tibetan Blue Bear so I may actually get it for that purpose http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibetan_blue_bear http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130610060653/animals/images/0/0c/Tibetan_bear02.jpg About Collecta one, it's not for me. Even compared to the photo it's still visible for me that the neck is a bit too long (maybe the extra high hump make the effect for me?) and I just cannot love it Maybe the fur texture and colour are also the reasons, I don't know. And I agree that the Kitan Club figure is the number one brown bear _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| I like this one. He looks like an old bull. He is also more in proportion than than the former MOJO elephant. The height is good and the trunk is a good length. _________________ Shawn

| I think the positioning of this elephant is much better than the old one. But I don't like the skin texture on this one at all. bleh _________________ Simone |

| I have to disagree with all of you except Shawn. Not easy to judge from this picture but that's the reason why all brands make very chubby elephants, it seems people don't like them when they have good proportions. People wants them with short legs, big head and specially cute. I am not impressed at all but from what I can see, it is the elephant with better proportions I know from major brands. I never liked the previous Mojo's version once it was almost as bad as Schleich elephants that are really poor figures. If you compare legs, head, trunk with pictures of real elephants, you'll find that proportions are quite reasonable, if you compare them with the Schleich elephant on your shelves, it will look strange but remember, Schleich elephants should not be considered a reference once they are quite different from real animals. What I explained before is in my opinion the reason why Schleich doesn't want to make realistic animals but mostly cute animals. Please check below a real elephant and a Schleich elephant, I can't see anything correct in it while in Mojo's I see much more comparable proportions. |

I totally agree with that opinion Roger. The new Mojo elephant has much better proportions then the previous one and better than any of the adult elephants Schleich ever made (schleich I think has too much influence for what we think about real animal proportions and I would say it's not educative from their side) I think the texture is quite rough here in this Mojo and it could be improved, it would have to be much more smooth to remind animal skin. Perhaps a colour is too plain grey, it should be grey mixed with a bit of brown colour and maybe a tiny bit of shading wouldn't harm it too. But the proportions are really better than before and better then few other brands elephants. Still, the trunk it probably too thick but I like the head/body ratio and long legs And Susanne, yes, the ears seems wrong, that's true _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection
