| Here we go, I opened a little packet from the Netherlands and out popped these two happy house pets ready to play somewhere a bit bigger than a little bag. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It's a repainted German Shepherd that is now a malamute/husky/shepherd/wolf.mix dog and very nicely done too. With him came a little kitty, a calico with two different colored eyes. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

| That's really an excellent figure as I told previously. It is fair that it ended in your hands although I wanted to ban you to see if I had the chance of getting it. |

| Emilia (Deseo) wrote a lovely letter to me and painted two wonderful birds! I am ecstatic. Weeeee! Black-necked Swan ( Cygnus melancoryphus) This swan “is the largest waterfowl native to South America,” but it is “the smallest member in its genus.” Some close relatives of the Black-necked swan are the Mute swan and the Black swan, all of which are relatively silent waterfowl. The female Black-necked swan lays four to six eggs. Both parents carry the cygnets on their backs. (That is adorable.) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I am not familiar with the original figure, but I am sure it looks much better now. This is a charming little swan! Monk Parakeet ( Myiopsitta monachus) Monk parakeets (aka quaker parrots) originate from Argentina and the surrounding countries in South America. They were introduced to many other parts of the world, including North America and Europe, where self-sustaining feral populations now exist. They can be considered agricultural pests, but I still think they are a beautiful bird with some remarkable traits. The monk parakeet is the only parrot that builds a stick nest, rather than using a hole in a tree. They are highly social, often breeding in colonial nests that can “reach the size of a small automobile,” “with separate entrances for each pair.” Other animals also use the parakeet nests, including birds of prey, ducks, and mammals. Monk parakeets will sometimes help to raise the young of another couple. This “helper individual” is typically a grown offspring of the pair. This evolutionary strategy, known as kin-selection, is unusual for a parrot. Monk parakeets have the potential to develop impressive vocabularies and they are very intelligent birds! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This is fitting for the holidays. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I melted when I first saw this parakeet in person. I adored it in Emilia’s progress photos, but it is truly a joy to hold in my hands. Also, Emilia mentioned in her letter that she did a little fixing with clay. Nicely done! These two beauties fit in perfectly and are fantastic additions to my “aviary”. Thank you so so much, Emilia! I am sure you would have preferred to paint a dog, but I am glad you had fun anyway. You do paint birds very well! |

| I'm so happy they arrived finally. It actually was really fun to paint that parakeet, it was so colorful. You can rarely see a dog in that color Congratulations also for Damon, those are very beautiful horses! Tim, what a cute calico cat and nice dog!
