Will start this thank you topic with a big THANK YOU to Blaine!
You all saw his tutorial of his creation and today, I had the pleasure to meet the bird in real!

I was given a package, with no knowledge of it being sent to me XD
I was like: huh? XD

Till I opened the package! It was very well packed indeed!
I saw red... and some blue... It was the Andean cock-of-the-rock!

I saw the pin\rod and that is a very clever idea!

The bird gave me a big smile and I admire Blaines creativity and the will to create something from Sculpey clay!
It is sure a very unique bird and I am very happy to own him <3

I am glad you liked him. I was nervous to try and make something, because I cannot compete with some of the talent on this forum haha, but all I had to paint were insects and spiders!.
I know your preferences indicated mostly mammals, but I was less comfortable making a mammal. I did see on your profile you also like tropical birds and fish, and your blog posts seem taxonomically-diverse, so I thought I would try a bird.
I am also happy it made it safely.
This swap thing is a fun idea and I am already looking forward to next year! haha.

Wonderful Karin! Apparently, Blaine got nervous when I said these birds love to eat insects. It may explain why it arrived so quickly. A very interesting species and a very respectable work from our bug man!

Yes I was also surprised by how fast it got there. I went to the post office on Saturday, and before a holiday, and it still got to Karin in 5 days! When I get stuff from Europe it takes two weeks (I think US customs can be slow...).

Your bird is gorgeous, Karin Respect for Blaine! I think it's great he stepped out of his chitin-comfortzone and made a bird! And what a wonderful first attempt for a sculpture! Lovely!

I took my repaint to the post office yesterday, so I expect it will arrive at my swap partner early this week.

And I know the swap made for me already arrived, but I won't be home until upcoming weekend. So stay tuned for pictures

Yay, I can say that my swap figure has officially arrived! I had it sent to my parents place and wasn't going there for another week or so. But there was a family dinner planned so my parents handed me the little parcel over just before I was about to take the train back home.

I'm still in the train right now so I can't really show you any good pictures right now. But still I took some while I was unboxing it in the train. (Without scissors or the like! So it took a little longer than usual due to the duct tape)

Time to show my STS Swap repaint! I know it arrived a little while ago, but I only got the opportunity to unpack it this morning. And it came from.. Karin And gosh, it's gorgeous and brilliant <3 Not only repainted she a wolf, one of my favourite animal species, but she added some personal extras as well. Just look at it:


She knows I'm studying archaeology and she added some self-made archaeologist's tools (a trowel and a tape measure) in a neat little satchel. And she even added a tiny sculpted wolf artefact from an ancient Wolf Culture

Karin, thank you so incredibly much for this gorgeous repaint with lovely accessories. I'll cherish it forever <3

A wolf to help carry the tools, when Julie is out in the field, digging for exiting old rarities, - and even an acient wolf sculpture

Hurray, I'm so glad he arrived safely and that you like him, Anne-Joke! And yes, it's a 'grootoorvos' or 'lepelhond', which is a bat-eared fox in English I really enjoyed painting him! It really encouraged me to do repaints more often!
