I think it is a good idea to see your cattle in different colors too. Maybe one of these patterns with many dots to your longhorn and a solide color to your cow.

Yes, I will look for a photo of Texas bull with many dots, that would be interesting For a cow, maybe just another shade of brown or brown/white?

Hello friends!

Since some time I have been working on the new version of Orlov Trotter horse. Just like last year I did with Arabian mare I wanted re sculpt it and possibly also make a resin edition of the new version.
I didn't change the pose this time, but I have changed a lot of details as well as general proportions. I don't know why but somehow this horse took me more hours than any of the previous sculptures but I hope I have learned something
Perhaps I will change some details yet, and make small corrections. But this is how he will look in general

The mane is done very much in the style of Maureen Love, I "love" it

LeeAnn, yes, I think I will have a mould and copies of this one. Maybe, possibly, quite soon. Like in April or so  If everything will go good.

Naturally it was not easy for you to replicate an Orlov as it is not easy to any other sculptor. First, that's a breed not regularly present is this hobby and which conformation is easily identifiable as it happens with a Haflinger or a Fjord. Then, when you try to find good pictures of it, you'll find some quite distinct morphologies because there are 4 different types in this breed and the heaviest one is almost not recognizable as an Orlov. This is also a horse full of elegance, something that can easily be lost in a small figure.
Although my opinion is not very relevant considering my limited knkowledge, I think you featured competently the breed, regarding what is its average type. The elegance is also evident because proportions are clearly in accordance with the real animal.
I see Count Orlov didn't wanted you to make a stallion, breeder rules! I've read his daughter was Anna like you and that he was also responsible for breeding borzois.

The ears of your gelding are more «closed» that it should be. Incision of horse ear should start from the basis of ear. Your one starts in the middle of ear... Hope you understood me XD

:lol:I also didn't know except that the breed was developed by famous Russian Alexei Orlov, the rest I've found in Wikipedia! There we can read that Orlov only accepted to sell geldings to the Tsar and never agreed to sell stallions to protect the breed.

Tzar Peter the Great, founder of the sumptuous city of Saint Petersburg, also had a daughter called Anna, she was the mother of Tzar Peter III, that married with Sophie, future Empress Katherine the Great, that together with Orlov made a "special conspiration party" to his husband! She also turned Stanisław II, her former lover, in the King of Poland.  It seems they also had a daughter called Anna but it is a secret!  
Concluding, you have also to sculpt an Orlov chicken

Haha, that's getting complicated indeed But it could be nice trio: horse, dog and a chicken. Almost like from the story of Town Musicians of Bremen Well, ok, this gone maybe too far from the subject
