| Yes, I remember, while giving my imput on Mojo's tamandua development, watching some videos of tamanduas in that standing pose. They're really funny, I think they use it to show their huge claws to eventual predators trying to intimidate them. But you have to see it on videos, it is really funny. I like that Kaiyodo was brave enough to provide us again some unusual poses. |

| Deep sea set is an aquarium--not a CQ--release, and available now Of course that means the cost is significantly higher.
Please PM if interested. |

| The Unique Animal Zoo 2 set releases next week. As far as I can tell, there is no July animal figure release (other than the big triceratops) and I see no Kaiyodo August release at all (though I'm told there is a big figure expo this summer so there will hopefully be some surprises). But, these are the two September CQ releases, one celebrating twin pandas born in a Japanese zoo... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Accepting orders now. Thanks. Brett |

| Thanks for keeping your good work informing us about these new Japanese sets. It is also not particularly interesting for me but surely very interesting for a panda's enthusiast. :) |

| I was surprised early this year when no one showed interest in the Hoikkado giant panda and then none for the same subject in the Unique Zoo 2 set (at least on its own, though buyers did so for the tamandua and shoebill). And so far, though I only announced the set to my mailing list today, I've gotten only two takers.
I'd have thought a species so iconic and charming would garner great interest, but I guess it's made by so many other companies that some are tired of spending money on different versions of it.
I certainly don't need eight or even four panda cubs in my Kaiyodo-only collection, but these are of course very nicely done as usual--and will display well alongside each other--so I'll buy and display some of them for sure.
As for the insect/arachnid set, I especially like the jumping spider but they all look nice enough to buy as well.
Still, I'm hoping there's some news coming from the pending expo, and one of my most wanted sets remains one of prehistoric mammals--though I guess for this board I should cite another of tremendous interest--modern ungulates.

Is it a sugar glider or a Leadbeater's Possum? It kind of looks like the Discover Science/Animals of Australia one. Either way...how is that related to a series that is otherwise hedgehogs? Other than maybe as pets? I'm just glad that the Kaiyodo prehistoric and marine sets had some gems, because I have to say, the CQ sets have not really done much for my collection this year. _________________ I used to have an online store, but now it's a Blog exploring the variety in my collection! If it's supposed to be a sugar glider, it could make sense because these and hedgehogs like the ones in this series are kept as pets. I'm not sure if Leadbeater's possums are kept as pets as well But still, I don't understand this series completely.. |
