Schleich 2017 Wishes/Speculations!

They are, in my opinion, both trying to make money (like every other company out there) and appeal to collectors. Look at their dinosaur figures for this year: while both the Dilophosaurus and the Dimetrodon are fairly well-known to prehistoric-lovers, Dunkleosteus, Barapasaurus and Herrerasaurus are FAR more obscure. There is a chance that kids know about Dilophosaurus, but those other four? I don´t think so.

I hope for more obscure prehistoric creatures and more dragons, and the arthropods, which I have already mentioned here (make a Sydney Funnelweb spider too!).

World of History Prehistoric Mammals:

Woolly Mammoth
Saber Tooth Tiger
Woolly Rhinoceros

Hmmm... I don't know exactly which animals I hope for yet but I do agree that I want less common animals. I'm tired of new versions of the same animal every year. My stores usually don't get new schleich in right away but this year they came in to one of our farm stores today! I was there as someone was stocking the shelves and me and my dad literally went through the box with the new ones in there before they even hit the shelves.

I would like it if Schleich started to come out with the WHOLE family when they came out with a new animal... not just the male. >.<

So it might be because in June, there will be other news :O

Yes your right. In wildlife for example the oryx, pangolin and leopard will be released in the second half of the year. There is a topic about the 2016 catalogue in the schleich catalogue forums... there is more info over there

-Microraptor (i know Schleich already has one)
more East Asian dinosaurs because they are mostly covered in feathers which make them cooler:)

What breeds of horses and ponies would you like to see schleich make for 2017?

I think they need to bring out some more ponies - Highland, Newfoundland and many more

The last decades they have changed them, so thy look like all other riding horses , but in some you still see the mighty horse of kings. The wonderful horse that was one of the ancesters of the lipizzan horse

A nice horse thats not standing; Rolwing, cratching, drinking, foaling, fleming, jumping, showing off.
Emotions ; angry fearfull i dont know.
Maybe pregnant ? (i don't know how to call that in englisch by any animal)

I saw this on Schleich's new webpage:

It looks different from the current Asian elephant leading me to believe it was a delayed 2016 model...

The Asian Elephant I 'think' you've put a picture on (struggling to see it as its showing almost a block of orange for me) looks the same as the model I have from several years back (14654) - the new elephant are African.  I'm sure it's me not understanding you correctly?

Yes I agree, that elephant looks to be in a slightly different pose than the current female Asian elephant. I had already just assumed that Schleich would release a new Asian elephant family in 2017 because this year we got new African elephants. It would also make sense for new Asian elephants to release next year because of the competition Schleich has going on at the moment about having your say on a new jungle animal they should create for the 2017 line up. So maybe they will release a whole lot of jungle animals next year rather than this year when we got mostly African species.
