COLLECTA 2017: DINOSAURS - Dimorphodon with moveable Jaw - Deluxe (88798)

Following the great success of CollectA’s model of the pterosaur Guidraco in 2015, we have this year produced a second model in the Supreme series. This time we present the Early Jurassic British pterosaur Dimorphodon whose remains were first discovered by the famed Mary Anning in England in 1828.The animal was of medium size and its name means 'two tooth form' referring to the two types of teeth found in its jaws. The wingspan was around 1.45m. It probably spent much of its time in the trees and was adept at climbing. CollectA's model will have articulated jaws.

Size: 37.5 cm long and 12.5 cm tall (wingtips).

Supreme series? I missed something, I see. Pterosaurs are getting popular and I think it is a good fashion although I don't have currently a single one.

Both Dimorphodon and the Basilosaurus measure over 35 cm and are, according to CollectA, extra-large.
Even larger than their feathered T-Rex.
I guess CollectA felt that naming them Deluxe would be an understatement.
So they had to come up with a new name for these two super large figures!

The Dimorphodon is actually the second one of the series,with the large Guidraco from 2015 being the first.

Very nice figure! I don't really collect pterosaurs, but this is one impressive model both in size and design.

this is the second Supreme figure after the Guidraco and its great to see smaller species in large collectable scales .. i love the color on the safari dimo and wished collectA did something similar with the head or tail colors !! Even then a majestic figure for any prehistoric collection !!
