A saiga ! A saiga !!! At long last a Saiga antelope is here :-))))

When I saw that CollectA was making a saiga antelope, I almost couldn't believe it !!!
For years it had been on the top of my wishlist  
And then Breyer stepped in, I was almost sure I would never get one after all ...but NOW he is here with me  

The great Peter Leung from CollectA knew I was hoping for one, - and he sent me this beauty        
My pictures don't do him justice...somehow his colour clashes with my camera, but I hope you can see how gorgeous this model is

The face of a saiga is completely strange...well, they probably think that it is the other animals'  faces are strange

The chiru was delighted to see him too, - they cpeak almost the same language

Talking of unusual faces, - the tapir has almost the same kind of nose

I also was hoping so much for a Saiga model..and like you, I`m also very happy, that Collecta gave this year this model to us.

It is beautiful, very accurate ..even static ..but the animal is so interesting looking, so it`s enough for us :)

It so kind from Peter Leung and Collecta, that they made you so happy , sending you this wonderful model.

By the way ...which brand is this Tapir ? Is it Schleich one ? (I have only the Safari one)

Yes, Susanne was waiting for a saiga antelope for a very long time, it was much before we dream that CollectA one day would release one. So, it warms me to know that Peter Leung decided to give this particular figure to Susanne. Mr. Leung, are you releasing a dhole to give me?
The antelope is very well done as it is being usual with CollectA. I love the head, horns, flanks, everything.
It is incredible, we were not long ago without antelopes in this hobby and now, CollectA have a impressive range of them.
Chiru is the perfect choice to show saiga and it's nose look indeed like a tapir, as long as they have the same use and similar shape, it is convergent evolution as you mentioned. Moreover, they belong to two distinct groups of ungulates.
I am very happy for you, Susanne and who presents figures with so nice pictures and love, deserves all figures of this world as gifts.

The Saiga looks fantastic, I hope CollectA will realize it soon.

It makes me very happy that you finally have the species you most wishes for such a long time! That really gives them a very sympathetic face.

The figurine looks absolutely amazing, so lifelike, it's absolutely perfect, the skin, the hoofes, the head, everything fits so well! And definitley a species that needs attention from the general public. It's definitley a highlight for this year, I really see that it has a lot of chance to get the figure of the year (too bad that many people here don't seem to apperaciate such rare species). And I already can't wait to see what other rare antelope species we will see made by CollectA in the next years. 

Just one question, is this a prototype or so? I compared its oficial mesurements to the one of the chirus and it looked like it would be smaller than the chriu, a little confused but I still can't wait to hold it in my hands.

Great model and big congrats! These are such great animals and I hope that a toy model of them may be able to help awareness for these guys.

Today teh weather is so nice, today I have to go to work Too bad I can't stay near my computer with cold weather and a day off, I would stay near my computer, warming my day with this walkaround.
