Old meets young - Great Dane by Hausser Elastolin and Boxer by New Ray

Now a new meeting from composition Dogge (Great Dane) by Hausser Elastolin and Boxer by New Ray from series "My best friend"
Elastolin dog is made in 1930 and boxer by New Ray is released in 2008.

They are both fine models, but the old one has mode "soul", - and even if they cut off most of his ears, at least he has a tail

Almost 80 years of difference! Isn't it incredible!
This hobby is much more than random toys. They all have a rich history, character and eductional purpose. Wonderful!

If they represente what was fashionable to the breed when these figures were released, it is impressive once they look two different dog breeds. It is also one more aspect where these comparisons could be of superior interest.

Susanne und Roger you are right. From about 16 to the 19th century Great Dane was often used by the European nobility to hunt for wild boars and bears.
