| Yes, the one from Safari has nearly the same size like the rhino from Papo. The Schleich rhino is slightly smaller. So it looks tiny next to the Black and White Rhinos from other brands |

| I'm glad that my models aren't real animals. Otherwise, it would be quite noisy |

| Wonderful! Please let me know:
1. how long is it and 2. is it reliably identifiable as that species?
thanks! |

thanks! It is around 9.5 cm long. The head has the same shape and also the colours are very correct for that species. It only lacks the spines on the back. I've studied all species of Horned Lizard and this model fits best with the Texas horned Lizard. Moreover, it is the most common species of them. | I found a Horned Lizard species, that fits even better: the Desert Horned Lizard. It has no spines on the back and the colouration is the same. Even the darker areas around the back. Moreover, the limbs don't have spots like the model. But here, the head looks different. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Based on the head crest, I think your original ID of the Texas horned lizard is correct (I did some research after I initially asked). The desert horned lizard has much simpler armature.
Hmm...9.5 cm might be a bit too big for me. I'll have to think about it.
In Arizona, we had the regal horned lizard in our neighborhood. I had a pet one and once a day, I took it out to an ant nest in our yard and let it eat away! |

| Yes, the head says Texas Horned Lizard, but the body says Desert Horned Lizard.
That's really a good idea to get rid of ants in your yard:) |

| I wouldn't put too much weight in the lack of spines on the body; I wouldn't except them on a figure of this size by a company like Papo (a Japanese company might pay that close of attention to detail).
Head and coloration better support Texas.
Still think it might be too big for me. Hmmm.. Then again, these are so rarely made (surprisingly). |

| I was again searching for the perfect species of this model. Then, I visited the homepage from Papo and I found the original image. It really should be a Texas Horned Lizard. But in reality the model lacks the colouration on the limbs and some more detailes on the back and the head: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I saw some in a shop and decided to buy something else, I agree the real Papo has really different and weaker painting.
The safari Ltd IC Desert Horned Lizard is far better but also bigger (13,5 cm). |
